Yes it's legit. Sending an email in very rare cases will cause the admin to make an exception and allow you back in the misc.
But the best way to prove you're not an alt is by posting a spoon pic and verifying you're the person in your avi/bodyspace picures. That way you'll be allowed back in almost immediately.

The main reason I never posted previously is that there might be employment consequences for me for posting on what could be seen as right wing (UK brah) website. I just can’t take that risk so I guess I won’t be getting back in.
