Unless you’re competing or taking orange juice, there is no point in squatting or deadlifting over 315 maybe 405.

Its about time under tension, mind muscle connection, its not weight lifting.

If you're waiting for good things to come to you, you'll be waiting for a pretty long time.

Herniated disc crew. Still deadlift 600+ and squat 450lbs. Some days my back is good, some days it feels weird and I avoid anything heavy.

Messed up my back 2 years ago and I haven't recovered yet. I'm pain free but as soon as I try to squat or dl I feel a sharp pain in my lower back.

When I first got injured I couldn't lift for about a year. Sucked big time. I have always had lower back issues even as a kid.

Pain never really ever goes away. I just have to be careful and making sure Im stretching, taking pain meds, and listening to my body.

Never got diagnosed but I definitely fukked up my back a couple times where I knew it wasn't simply muscle pulls or spasms... Still lifted heavy once I felt better. Don't lift heavy anymore for other reasons though would rather do a set of 15-20 on squats and 3x10 for deads srs. Way better development and conditioning imo.

I had a major herniation at L5/S1 that kept me out of the gym for 18 months. It was NOT fun.

It's okay now, but I still haven't tried to go back to where I was. I'll stop at 1.5x BW. I'm not going risk screwing it up again.

    You can.

In many cases a huge component of your pain is neurological. Getting back to normal things can help a lot with feeling normal again.

I have two disc's that give me problems in the lumbar region and a surgeon suggested Deadlifts and its variations as one of the best things for it.

Before you go running off to PR though, understand that you probably hurt yourself due to a weak core/TVA and tightness in other regions. Dial it right back so your form is impeccable and do your prehab/rehab properly.

I hit a new Squat PR a few months ago and I'm stronger than I was pre injury, basically 3.5 years after my back injury. I am good 95% of the time these days. But when it happened I was dark man, constant pain wears you down and it took a good 12 months before I got the advice to be normal.

I have. I ruptured a disc back in 2011. I am healed up but will forever be 85-90%. It's always there.

I immediately gave up DL and did Rack pulls. They helped immensely and did not aggravate it.

I relearned how to ATG squat with better flexibility, and keeping the back upright/straight. But, you can stick with hacks and press.

Can DL still but I will use a trap bar.

I can’t squat anymore. Anytime I load weight on shoulders I am fukked. Can’t even OHP 135 anymore, my back will hurt for days.

Herniated a disc L5/S4 or somthing I think like 5 years ago.
