want to build muscle ..... diet tips

Hi guys , not new to the gym but new to this site.

Looking for some advice really .....

Want to build my chest up and build my arms up - my main goals. Nothing crazy but would like good definition and size.

    I’m 5ft 10 , 11 st 5 and at around 12.5% bodyfat.

I used to have a belly and was slightly overweight I’ve lost that now and am much leaner , I’m desperate to keep it that way , but I do want a bigger chest and bigger arms.

Can I stay lean ( eat moderately ) with high protein and build muscle ? As long as I’m hitting gym regularly ....

Note aswell I’m a big swimmer and will do 50 lengths 5/6 days per week too so good levels of cardio .

Thanks for your help guys !

It's likely your BF% is higher than you think. We've all made this mistake in the past. The implications of this are that you probably need to train your entire body, not just chest and arms - because otherwise when you get lean enough for definition you will look disproportionate.

Of course, a photo would help make this determination.

Yes, you should be able to stay relatively lean while progressing in the gym. You need to control your calories tightly to do this because you are usually walking a narrow path with fat gain on one side and stalling lifts on the other...
