You really are butthurt over this. Yes, there's a Libertarian case to be made for the decriminalization of drugs on the right. That can be true AND it can be true at the same time that people on the left who favor endless government probably have a motive involved when they want to make something legal.

You could apply this same reasoning to many legal substances.
I would go with legalizing/taxing, but with strong age restriction/penalties for selling to minors.
Tseng, based at the University of Illinois in Chicago, investigates how rats respond to THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the main psychoactive ingredient in cannabis. He’s found that exposure to THC or similar molecules during a specific window of adolescence delays maturation of the prefrontal cortex (PFC), a region involved in complex behaviors and decision making (1). The disruption alters how the area processes information when the animals are adults.
Audiences of parents and teachers tend to be alarmed by the long-lasting deficits, Tseng says. But when he speaks with teenagers, especially those already using cannabis, he gets a different response. “It’s surprising, but they’re not that worried.” Youths often want to know how much cannabis they can consume without harming brain development; they press Tseng to extrapolate from rats the age at which it’s “safe” for people to start using the drug. “They need to understand this is not black and white,” says Tseng.
Many observational studies have suggested that adolescent cannabis use may be linked to long-term harms, including cognitive impairment and increased risk of schizophrenia (2). But in almost every area that researchers have examined, results have been inconclusive regarding the precise nature and strength of these associations. In particular, there’s little consensus as to whether cannabis directly causes long-term health harms in people, whether it’s one of a number of risk factors, or whether it simply correlates with other root causes.
It isn't settled science, so to speak, but why risk it? Rather err towards keeping kids away from it.INTP Crew

Gateway drug. I've watched my son fall into the "it's legal" trap. Became a heavy smoker, barely passed his senior year. Bombed out of community college after 1 semester. Lazy, procrastinates. Escalated to other things. Ended up in rehab. MUCH better, but still stupid enough to smoke. Has to pass a drug test today for a new really good job.
I don't drink or smoke, but I would recommend not doing either daily. Keep it to the weekend.

thanks for reality posting
cigarettes need to be illegal (srs). it'lll never happen, but it should.
Sure, science is labelling weed as "less dangerous" but that is causing harm becausing flooding your brain with THC has to be understood that it is NOT HEALTHY. occasional users i know are doing okay, but habitual users I know are all fuked.
damn
----
my opinion is that I don't like tucker because he is a pessimistic guy disguising his pessimism as moral/virtue. tucker is sleazy + grimy as fuk
weed should be legal however, society needs to quit acting like it's a harmless drug with only benefits when it is extremely potent at altering mind and mood.

Not gonna watch because lots of what that dude says is beyond cringey and I can't handle his mildly concerned look seemingly perma-stamped on his face. However, I will say that "banning" a plant that was there long before homo sapiens came into the picture is an exemplification of human ignorance and arrogance. If you think weed is dangerous, you need to really reconsider that viewpoint. It's a plant that has mild psychoactive properties. People are taking opiates by the bucketload in the USA but that's okay. It's a giant farce.
This is coming from someone who doesn't consume cannabis. Do what you want with your life. If you wanna get high every day all the more power to you.*Look at reflection in car window and flex every time crew*

How is this fair? whats the agenda? it isn't state rights thats for sureDeport ALL Illegal Aliens
