then finally retire to do what they want with less of the physical and mental capacity they had in their youth???
**** makes no sense but why does everyone accept this as normal and even admirable??

didnt realize there was so much proud wagies on the misc.
and they are ok with using up most of their precious time and energy for this? what about hobbies or passions? or time with friends or family?
what is outside the box then?
exactly i value my time and it seems like full time work takes it all up...**** makes me super depressed if i think about it too much (srs)
its not even necessary and its been proven people are less productive over long hours of time...it would make sense to cut the work week to 3 or 4 days and 6 hours a day..

people are institutionalized since school without even realizing it.
the system is designed to keep people working and "contributing" to society until death
in school you have teachers and class mates when you become an adult its managers and co workers.
same **** just different time line.
not many people actually break free from the 9-5 working class slavery but thats a good thing. let the peasents work till they die and the real ones FIRE as soon as they can.

In real life they are just called people with jobs, which is most people. Of course you can have hobbies, passions, and raise a family while working a job. Your job can also be your passion. That's what a man does, he earns a living for himself and his loved ones. You could also be born into great wealth and never need to work, or you could own income-producing assets.
I mean do you just want everything handed to you for free? Part of growing up is learning to take care of yourself and make your own living. I know some people who trade securities in financial markets and live on profit instead of wage/salary. One of them trades like two weeks out of the year and is set. He spends the rest of his time playing video games and skiing. If that sounds fulfilling then go do that, but he put a lot of work into getting there.
Nothing in life is just handed to you for free. If you have to wonder why people work then maybe you were born into privilege. You can always be a monk or a criminal or some other alternative if you really want to. Being a worker isn't your only option, but it's really not terrible if you are a hard working person that takes pride in their work. People who say things like "wagie" are usually coping with their own failure.Beans. Cleans. Gasoline.

Mirin
I did 4 years full time after college in low stress job.
Then 4 years after grad school in “prestigious” high stress job that is supposedly the pinnacle of that career. Just LMAO at all the NPC buying into that life.
All those careers do is work you to the bone and keep you at peak stress levels so you never have time to think about wtf you are actually doing with your life.
Higher level careercelling is like a cult environment srs. They intentionally exhaust you so you lose the agency to reconsider wtf you are doing.

OldCel,
people in the past simply lived in lower class and middle class bubbles. Everybody you knew worked and did so for decades and they were happy. You might had occasionally seen a rich rapper or a rich actor on TV but they just weren't that relatable. Like the Ant doesn't see a Bird and then wishes he's a Bird.
Different now. You hear of many people going rags to riches through YouTube, TikTok, OnlyFans, Crypto, etc and they're usually doing no work or bullchit work. Meanwhile wages have been stagnant, housing prices go up and everything is costing more.

It isn't soul crushing if you have a strong will. If you really want to, you can save some of your income and invest in your own profitable activities. If you want to escape the rat race completely, then you could be a hermit or a monk or something. There are also Bohemian types who do creative work, live within simple means, and have a lot of free time.
If you want to accomplish anything, you have work for it and sometimes sacrifice. Think about a parent who works full time to provide for their kids, that's love and sacrifice. You don't have to follow the crowd, but if you've ever struggled in life then you understand why people work so hard for what they have.Beans. Cleans. Gasoline.

9-5 isnt the way, and it took a pandemic to wake some wagies up to this reality.
The sad truth is that its a zero sum game, some have to suffer as wagecels, and some companies have to fall from grace.
I wanted just a small measley peice of the pie and turned my back on the wagecel life as soon as I could.
While some are losing their livelyhood, others have turned their back on Mr CEO and checked out of the rat race.
Some will succeed in their endeavors in the economy to come, while others will go back to serving a new master. Some will check out when the going gets tough, and others will adapt to their NEET lifestyle.
The time has come for wagies to decide their fate, and if you didnt attempt to become self employed or do your own thing in the last year, I have some bad news...
