So obviously a lot of gyms have their fair share of douchebags, but of all the gyms I've been to, and all the people I've met over the last 2-3 years or so this guy is probably the hugest ******* I've ever met. First time I've seen this dude, but he's fat as phuck, he walked into the gym doing the rich piranha ILS penguin walk with his gymshark stringer on. He then proceeds to do bench press with 100lbs, which is fine, however he was screaming, swearing and shouting his head off after every rep. Everyone in the gym was bert-staring this dude like wtf. He then did some random circuit like pulldowns, rope pushdowns and row machine, and he continued to shout and scream at the top of his voice on every piece of equipment, even though it was with weight my gran could lift lol. But the icing on the cake was that he then went into the squat rack to do dumbbell curls, and after every set of curls, he would shadow box in the mirror and flex his fatceps. A regular came into the gym and he politely asked the guy how many sets he had left in the squat rack, and he replied "I'm done when I'm done, ok?!". After he'd finished his shadow boxing and curls in the squat rack, he left his dumbells there and left. My jimmies were thoroughly rustled. This dude was like 35 as well... smh.

I thank God that I had nice people instruct me on gym etiquette when young.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy dudes are feeling strong, but too much hollering does involve everyone else in your workout. I used to think screamers were cute because I associated them with serious lifters, but then I encountered a guy like what OP is talking about. I mean, even I've made some noise if it's a huge lift, but screaming shouldn't be done on purpose and throughout the duration of the work out.
If I Bert stare a screamer he ends up thinking I want dick."I can see clothes of silk, if materials that do not hide the body, nor even one's decency, can be called clothes ... Wretched flocks of maids labor so that the adulteress may be visible through her thin dress, so that her husband has no more acquaintance than any outsider or foreigner with is his wife's body." - Seneca the Younger starting the misc tradition of moral outrage and pearl clutching instead of lifting.

had a guy at an old gym we called the screamer, he yelled his heart out with every movement and banged weights to draw as much attention to himself as possible
he told my fre=iend who was deadlifting to drop the weight at the top so he could do more reps, which was god damn hilarious "ay bro here's how to make more noise you're being too quiet"Official LTC representative

omg that's too funny. What I've seen is that serious lifters put in some effort at not attracting attention. However, it doesn't usually work, because people will look anyway if you're really pushing yourself. Some girl told me I had a "fan club."
I feel like going to the gym is cool because you can stay contained within yourself if you want to. I can't realistically hope for gym buddies since it's mostly dudes, and most dudes want to smash, but I do love the peace of the gym.
The screamer I encountered really seemed to want to be friendly, so I felt bad for hating him."I can see clothes of silk, if materials that do not hide the body, nor even one's decency, can be called clothes ... Wretched flocks of maids labor so that the adulteress may be visible through her thin dress, so that her husband has no more acquaintance than any outsider or foreigner with is his wife's body." - Seneca the Younger starting the misc tradition of moral outrage and pearl clutching instead of lifting.

didnt read
but theres only one way to deal with guys like that, and thats to walk up to him, stare him right through the eyes and ask him if he has a ****ing problem
do that and watch how his pupils shrink, how his voice tonality goes up and how he starts to explain away his ****ty behavior
it may sound like a cheesy saying, but bullies are usually major cowards
