Legit debating going to best buy and getting an LG CX 48 OLED

Every big movie app has hdr and Dolby vision movies and shows now. Just depends on the show or movie.

If you just wanna stare in awe go on YouTube and watch some 4k hdr demos and stuff. You'll know it's hdr even on YouTube cause it'll pop up in the to priggt corner and switch picture settings.

Oh trust me, I already know about YouTube. Hulu doesn't do HDR. Amazon Prime videos have a decent selection. Netflix I'm not sure. Apple TV+ looks good and I'm thinking about getting that.

SO I set up my LG C1 48" and Horry chit it's amazing. It's night and day from my Acer Pred 34. It dwarfs it, and the picture is so stunning, especially playing games. It doesn't even feel right that games look so good.

I'll take a pic of my new setup tonight. I do use the Predator as my second monitor, but I have a huge ass desk so everything fits on my desk including PC with a bunch of room too boot.

Yeah man the one I saw at best buy looked almost 3d and the contrast really was perfect. It was like gloss paint on a screen. I'm thinking about going to best buy and getting either the 48 or 55 inch

if its for gaming, 48" could be enough depending on his sitting distance.. even on console gaming some folks use desks to play.


and for OP, if you are desktop gaming, i'd probably wait it out if you can, cause big rumors are smaller oled's are coming from LG. Personally waiting for a 42 or a 38 incher for permanent desktop use. if you are using it for couch gaming, just get the 55" they are practically the same price.

I’d buy a 27 or 32 inch OLED monitor for my series X setup in a heart beat.

CX crew checking it. TV is amazing. Dolbyvision HDR is incredible on the display.

Zero issues with glare or lack of brightness. Plenty bright.

Can confirm, LG CX 55" crew checking in. Absolutely no issues with brightness, and if anything it gets too bright. TV is super clear, super responsive, no lag time for gaming, great internal speakers, and it's the best TV I've owned. I've heard the C1 screen isn't as good as the CX, but it's minimal if anything. I was hesitant on the TV and then I said fukk it and went for it, and no regrets at all. Practically sweat a bullet putting it together since it's razor thin, but it worked perfectly.

cx48 has been the best computer purchase ive ever made, i got mine wall mounted. the difference is mind blowing

^^all of this....got the 65" and couldn't be happier. i was literally sweating when putting it together and mounting(srs) so nerve-racking

also most people who buy this most likely have a nice sound bar or sound system of some sort so they dont need to use the internal speakers....but the internal TV speakers sound better than my sony sound bar that I had....so i ditched the sound bar and am still just using the internal speakers (srs)

nice. Since I got a Xbox one X I have slowly been going through the MCC. Now on Halo 3 with my Series X.

I have a 65'' B8, but would like to get an 83'' C1.

What settings/calibrations are you running the tv on? I mean is it on game mode are you able to get VRR?

VRR also depends on the console/pc you are on.

PS5 is struggling with it. hopefully a software update will help that in the future.

Yeah PS5 is a joke right now when it comes to VRR, I think it's either broken or they havnt enabled the patch yet. My pc seems to detect on the C9 and I managed to run doom eternal at 120 fps which was pretty cool, but ehh, i dont think the graphical sacrifice is worth it and tbh, I dont see too much of a difference between 60-120 as opposed to 30-60 .... I must be blind or something.

Das it mane, I know how you feel. I had 10 year old LED HDTV and it looked alright, but the 1080 resolution wasn't great, and it wasn't a Smart TV. I got the TV after the Series X dropped. The Series X on my old TV was more or less the same since it was the same resolutions, only faster. But then when I got the TV, it checks all the boxes for the Series X, and I loaded up Modern Warfare 2019 and was blown away at how incredibly clear everything looked. Even now as I'm playing more and more updated games, they look fantastic. Gears 5 looks great, Forza's, Halos, etc all look dope. Then even on the non-upgraded games with the Series X and this TV, they all look way better. Between games, shows, and movies, I still get blown away at how nice everything looks. Really looking forward to the future Next Gen games where the game is optimized for the systems and TV's.
