It might feel like a technicality to some, but the government doesn't "coopt" something that only exists because they created some very artificial property right. The reason the government creates a 20 year monopoly is because it's supposed to be good for us. This is special, and it's a fcked up system that we even made to farm it out. On this particular singular drug issue - **** Pfizer and these other subhuman companies. They already bypassed 90% of the usual process with the emergency authorizations and have been getting paid (way too much I'm sure) money by the government for this ****.
