Well the Elite 2 has been known for having some issues and it came out around the tail end of the Xbox One. I mean the Xbox One X came out in 2017 and yet we got an entirely new console in 2020. I wouldn't act like a couple of years means a whole lot when talking about next gen upgrades, and there has been rumors of an Elite 3 anyways.

Yup I also have an Elite 1, it's what I use on my PC and it's perfect for that. I actually prefer using the stock Microsoft Series controller or a late One controller with the rubber grips when it comes to Xbox for some reason. As for the Series 2 you heard correctly, it's one of the reasons why Microsoft is developing a new Elite controller for the Series consoles. Heck Microsoft doesn't even seem to be producing the Elite 2 controller anymore, they are selling for about $300 new on Amazon (originally $180) and even then you might be getting a faulty controller.

This one looks boss, especially considering I prefer parallel thumbsticks and this would let me do that

Not paying $150 for a controller though. Unless it were guaranteed to work for the lifetime of the console lol.

-Some people say good things come to those who wait, truth is, good things come to those who work..... who work later.....who work harder...... who are willing to go further than anyone else to get them. If you're waiting for good things to come to you, you'll be waiting for a pretty long time.

Elite Series 2. I bought this for my gaming PC and it is always a very pleasant surprise whenever I use it. Very great feel to it, a nice and not off putting weight, very customizable though I've yet to explore that portion too much yet. Would recommend for most games where you think a keyboard + mouse setup isn't ideal... or in any game for a Series X. Great battery life, USB-C connector, Bluetooth connectivity, etc.
Zero leaks, announcements, etc. for the Series 3. Agreed with everyone saying it'll be some years before it's even on the horizon. I'd bet they're saving it for when they release Series X+ or whatever they call their upgraded console that's technically not next gen.i7-14700k
