I edited my original question. I meant to ask if all the misc bros in "trading and investing" would be over 2.5 mill.
It seems like a possibility but I don't know. couple of guys would have over 100k, 200k, 300k, 60k, 50k, 20k, 10k, 5k, less.
Not trying to find out what ppl's balances are but over 2.5 for the usual posters here would be a lot I think.
just wanted to see what you guys thought

just lmao @ timing an IPO.
you need to look at valuation and think long term about what you're buying.
a decline is a win; you can load the boat with cheaper shares.
I bought UPST when it had already tripled from ipo, then I held it from $105 to $42.
You need conviction. If you don't like the company, or have no idea what you're buying..... Then don't.Spoiler alert; you die at the end.

Lol we talking 401k + trading accounts or just the fuk around trading accounts?
401k and retirement accounts included we probably blow past 10 milli easy. Just trading 2.5 isn’t that crazy either. Lots of people here are over 6 figs and a few are a little shy of that amount.
I’m trying to remember who it was but someone was swinging a pretty big portfolio around…. I think they were close to the 2 milli mark but can’t recall exactly. Then you got this guy ^ with half the stack solo
Edit: yup Venom remembers. It was that fellaFitness connoisseur

I started investing in early 2009. We've basically been in a gigantic bull run ever since. The only stagnant or bear time I saw was like 2015 which was pretty bad year for indexes. I was pouring money into my 401k wondering every day if I would ever see a return again. Every year was another year of record level debt.
If I had invested in VFIAX in late 2007 at $140, I wouldn't see a positive return until 2013.
We're in unprecedented times, there's no doubt about it. I think the fed printer gets most of the credit here. I haven't been investing that long, but I've never seen anything like it. But at some point the bill comes due. But no one knows when that time period is going to be or what will be the event that starts another bear market. Covid should have kept us in a bear market probably until about now, but the fed printer prevented that. The more the market is propped up, the harder it's likely to fall and that's when the people with the right skills and knowledge profit.
That's just how I see it anyway.Last edited by _zman; 09-19-2021 at 09:44 AM.

The USA has been operating at a massive trade deficit to Chyna for decades now.
The ONLY thing keeping us ahead [economically] is our financial system.
Wealthy Chinese who collect US dollars from our purchasing RACE to invest it back into American businesses and real estate; they are not keeping their funds in chithole china.
Our financial markets (and tech industry) are literally the only internationally appealing economic aspect of our country.... It's the ace up our sleeve that even Buffett hadn't considered in the early 2000s.
As long as chyna remains the dumpster fire it is, USA will prevail as the economic powerhouse of the world.Spoiler alert; you die at the end.

none.
china gdp is heavily tied to real estate market. they will not allow this to spill into rest of market unless CCP wants recession.
all I hope that there is fire sale in canada housing market from chinese dipshiits that have driven price here sky high.
they use canada to launder dirty money buying real estate to flip here.
