Just LOL at papa Musk.
Taking not only the market but bitcoin with it now. This is funny to watch. Tesla is going to continue to get hammered IMO. Can see sub 500 next week IMO.
Holding off on buying any stocks ATM. We could be at these lows for months. Inflation now kicking in as well. There is no real catalyst for stocks to rise from here for a while. It looks like tech is on sell but is it? Everytime I have bought it has got progressive worse. Holding off until June.

Right now I just dca into long term holdings.
What strategies do you guys use to make money when the market is headed south?
Puts? Inverse etf’s? I see some of them like SCO are only recommended to be held a day or less?
What strategy would you recommend as a way to take a 1st step into that part of the market? Something with a low cost entry preferably and short-mid term timeframe. Anywhere from a couple weeks to a couple months for example and could be understood by a newb.Last edited by aberry33; 05-12-2021 at 07:11 PM.

I’m perfectly fine with Tesla dipping below 530 lol. That’s why I was asking a few pages ago if anyone thought it would and after the Bitcoin news I’m sure it will.
Elon pissed at China, he knew the whole time coal was the primary fuel source and China is one of the largest miners.
May as well bring out the bad news while the whole growth/tech/ev is tanked already.

No, rising inflation means interest rates have to go up. When rates go up people take their money out of growth stocks and put them into safer investments (usually when rates go to 3%+) the sectors that benefit mostly from this are energy, metals, materials, and staples. It also helps companies with lots of debt because then the debt is worth less. It also means the economy will contract in the future because thats the job of rising the rates. Currently we are at the tail end of a booming economy and we will need to contract for a couple years to offset the inflation.

So having seen that the fear in the markets isn't going anywhere I've decided to take losses today
Probably the worst time to sell I know, but I don't want the risk of losing even more money and my index fund profits counteract the losses I'll make
These are just my tech positions. Also down on other stuff today in the bloodbathMotorcycle Crew

its about your exposure and how much you're willing to lose, and also about knowing when to cut your losses which i should have done ages ago.
you do realise the nasdaq is tetering on the edge of a cliff right? i dont think that makes me or anyone else stupid to want to protect their money from further losses
for sure it could bounce back next week and i'd be wrong. i'll take that. but no one has a crystal ballMotorcycle Crew

Tetering on the edge.
No one has a crystal ball.
You're contradicting yourself.
It's really not about exposure. It's about whether you're investing or trading. In the long term
Typically it's a very bad idea to invest money you may need. Seems like that's what a lot of people do.I used to have an AVI of my traps and neck. I changed it a while back and tried editing my user title but this website is glitched and it will not let me change it anymore.

No im not contradicting myself
Tetering on the edge is a fact. Look at the chart and you'll see for yourself. It actually dipped bellow major support earlier and hasn't been able to push back through it.
What's speculation is what it'll do in the future. But looking at the chart now, it has broken support so 'probably' it's going lower
In a years time tech and growth could well bounce back but you don't know how low they'll get to before they do, and whether they'll return to these highs we see nowMotorcycle Crew
