Two screens have leaked of the same map (you can see the building with the rocket next to it to the right).. The second shows a tornado weather effect. Both screens are also identical to the sketches the leaker drew a few weeks ago. They also show off a modern setting.

So now the game is going to feature extreme weather? Not exactly sure how that will benefit a Battlefield game. They are definitely going for a modern theme, which they might as well considering how Dice's woke politics can only work in a modern day setting anyways, they might as well give up on making anything historical.

Graphics look kinda chit, won't lie, but then again these are early screens.

I won't go back into Battlefield unless

1. They support modders again
2. Procedural Dynamic Maps like that Fallujah Game (buildings are never the same apparently)
3. Multiplayer support up to 200 players. If BF2 (you know the game that came out decades ago) is doing it then why not a contemporary game?

Voice comms for party members and voice comms for nearby players not in the party. (Squad does this and its cool)

When I saw that map the first thing that came to mind of a battle royale mode. Basically you are on an island map and the extreme weather such as that tornado reduces the size of the playable map, seems pretty obvious to me by now. Apparently this is what all shooters have become.

Even BF3 was a step down from BC2 (though it was still great). You're right in that DICE BF games have only gotten progressively worse (consistently).

I'm just hoping to god that next gen and the longer development time allows for a better BF game. I need this series back in my life in top form. No other shooter has really filled its place for me.

Never liked the battlefield games that much, but I enjoyed 1943 which was the F2P version I think. Sledgehammer is making the 2021 Call of Duty, and I'm like 90% sure that one is going to be ass, so they could capitalize on this by releasing this before CoD, especially when CoD is facing some delays. They definitely don't want to release it in 2022, which is when IW's Modern Warfare 2 comes out, and will likely break every CoD and shooter record known to man, so this needs to be released now. I think though it will flop, but I don't know too much specifics of Battlefield and can only really comment on the politics of these games.

I'm not so sure about it flopping- I know they lost alot of good will from gamers with the ****show release of V, and then the constant screwing with the TTK etc, however we could see a reaction from the apathy being generated by Warzone. I've seen alot of people saying how much they're looking forward to BF6 to get away from Raven/Activision.

they have potential to "steal" players cause warzone players are waiting to try something new with "less hacks" but EA/Dice has to do this 100% correct cause this could be the last chance they get for a while.

They already have bad blood with the current battlefield game for not only everything that went down with their bad PR, but because they released an unfinished game and promised to complete it, and those fans never got the content they were promised.

Good point, although they could use the same model - Free to play game modes, which require the paid for MP to level up/unlock weapons etc at a faster rate to be competitive.

How many CW purchases were purely so players could grind weapons + attachments quicker for WZ?

Looks interesting, glad they're going back to modern tech/era. Agree with JayJ350 about it being a good move if they're gonna do the whole female/racial empowerment stuff, to instead do it where it can make more sense, and not be distasteful due to historical inaccuracies and fallacies. I literally don't care about this subject (politics/rights) enough to have written so much in this post about it though, but he has a point lmao.

Anyways I'll reserve judgment until we get some more official stuff from the devs, including 4k gameplay footage.

Everything I've heard from leaks so far is a mixed bag.


I don't care about pumping up the player counts in matches, IMO Battlefield was at its best on 32 player Rush. I just hope they bring Rush back at this point.

It could work though right?

Say if it was randomly generated, or forced players to adapt to different play styles depending on how the match is unfolding (sandstorms obscuring combat so snipers have to play more aggresive and close the distance etc.).

Weather could also be used to interact with vehicle controls etc.

I hope it's used intelligently instead of a scripted set piece or to dictate the boundary in BR.
