Hell itself is not even in the Bible. (There is a Lake of Fire at the end of the Book of Revelations that Lucifer and his followers do go to)
It was a thing more taken from the Ancient Greeks and Romans.
The New Testament was originally in Greek. Hades is greek for afterlife.
In Ancient Greece Hades was just that an afterlife. It was just a place where the dead went. There was no evil place or good place.
But then Plato had his Theory of the Chariot. Where our souls are like a Chariot being pulled in two different directions. The more good we do the higher the Chariot goes but the more bad we do the lower the chariot gets pulled. So it's a constant back and forth that our Chariots (souls) get pulled by what we do.Financial Freedom/Passive Income Crew

I have thought about this in the past. However - if this truly was Hell - why is there good in the world? Shouldn’t it all be bad?

'Revelations' is a crazy read. A lot of mind blowing imagery going on.
I believe that 'Hell' was something developed by 'The Church' to scare people into behaving and and living according to the rules they wanted. Also, I don't truly believe in 'Heaven' as any kind of realm or place which can be experienced and reached. I am open to religious reading and theology, but I don't buy into the whole heaven/hell thing. The question will be answered at some stage for all of us though."Honor is something that all men are born with. It cannot be taken from you nor can it be granted. It must only not be lost."

Many of the conceptions people have are totally wrong. For example the devil/demons ruling hell when they're the ones that it was created for, also being tortured by vile beings was actually a Nordic belief that the church adopted. In terms of people going to paradise and people being punished is clearly in the bible

Yeah no chit:
"So if you don't do what the scary man in the sky says, you will burn forever. He says you need to make a big house for me to live in, I need clothes made of gold and silk and, oh yeah, you need to give me 10% of everything you produce. Yep he totally said that or it's burny time you filthy pleb."
The Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus are totally real, prove otherwise if you disagree."A stupid man's report of what a clever man says can never be accurate, because he unconsciously translates what he hears into something he can understand."

Our modern interpretation of heaven/hell and satan are not really worth entertaining. Going off the OT there are very few passages that even mention these ideas and they are all in aramaic/hebrew texts and translated into greek/latin and then into english. An american has the idea of a satan being a red horn and hooved figure when in hebrew a "satan" is an adversary and could take on a human form. One word with two completely different definitions and image. Our idea of heaven also doesnt line up with texts from revelation in which there is a kingdom of heaven on earth after the final battle. I don't think it says anywhere in the bible that souls are zapped up into the sky where you live as an angel.
The whole idea of heaven and hell and the horned devil distorts the whole gospel message. All of those concepts are rarely and loosely mentioned in the bible yet its where a lot of focus is.No signature

Yeah love that the comic book representation of Lucifer is the red horned, goat hoofed being when in actual fact he'd basically be the biggest chad by our standards. It is alluded to in OT that he's extremely good looking amongst angels.
But hey - smartest thing he ever did was convince people he is a fairy tale. Its what Id do if i wanted to run amok in the background of the world.

My post from another thread on the topic:
Hell is not eternal, but it is so intense that when you experience it might as well be. This is a pretty common description from people who have been there. When you leave your body you experience “time” in a completely different way. As far as why it is experienced, I think it’s because of the baggage/experiences/emotions/actions/regrets that some people have built up over the course of their life. Any of that negativity must be burned off before a person can enter heaven because none of that exists in heaven. And facing all of those things can be a very painful experience(ie hell). As far as why God allows it, it’s because we have free will. So I don’t think it results in eternal damnation(though when you experience it it will seem that way to a certain extent), but you will have to face the demons you create over the course of your life.
The life we experience on Earth isn’t even close to the experience of hell. Anyone who suggests that it is should hear some testimony from people who’ve experienced it.+positive crew+

The way the modern world is structured is bad. It's absolutely dogchit if you're one of the poor in a 3rd world country. People complain about a $30,000 poverty trap in USA but try pulling up your boot straps if you only make $200 a month.
I like watching documentaries on Steppe Nomads. Imagine going from pasture land to pasture land, having hundreds of sheeps / cows / horses, etc. Hunting game all day. Drinking fermented milk alcohol and smoking cannabis at night (the Scythians did cannabis a lot I read).
It's almost as if the Earth could stand to lose 98% of the population but the problem is nobody wants to be part of that 98% to die off.
