    Question Post lockdown advice?

    Hi all,

I'm a 31 year old, 5'10" male, 15 stone 5 lbs. I have a few tyres around the belly, the "moobs".

I'm starting back at the gym in a couple of weeks and was hoping for some advice from the seasoned lifters.

What's the best program (5*5, cube, high rep, low rep etc) and diet (keto, atkins, high carb etc) for what would be a beginner. It's been a long time since i trained

I'm hoping to get the fat off while building some muscle mass and strength.

Please bear in mind I'm amateur at this so go easy...

    Thanks guys and girls!

P.s. sorry I know there are lots of posts about beginner stuff, but I'm looking for general advice as well as recommendations of diets and programs

Regardless of what route you go, you should spend some time working on your foundation, make sure your mobility is on point before you start adding muscle to your skeleton.

Thank you, I'll bear it in mind. I have trained in the past and have decent form through the movements. Do you have any suggestions for a good fat loss diet or a workout program?

Any of the ones in the stickies at the top of this forum page would be fine as a starter, and you can browse the threads every so often for other recommendations in case you want to switch at some point. IMO you don't need to be on any special/fad diet. Checkout the stickies at the top of the Nutrition and Losing Fat forums for more info on how to get started.

The main thing is to be consistent with a proper lifting program and calorie deficit.
