Last year at this time, it was deals galore. Brand new 2019 GT3RS’ were going $20k UNDER msrp. Mercedes E63 AMGs with a few thousand miles were 30k under mspr at like $85k. Now these same cars with salvage titles are selling in the same price range. There has been absolutely no depreciation. It’s horrible. I honestly don’t think it’s a bad idea to buy a new car at this point, at least those prices have stayed the same for the most part.

It’s insane man. Sold my 17 z71 a couple of year ago for 32k and paid 36k new. Seen the same truck for sale now with more miles for 40k. It’s so dumb lol
Cars are about to be an investment for a little while. Really motivating me to pick up a dd after we close on our house.Last edited by Krackerjacked; 04-23-2021 at 05:55 AM.

The dealer I bought my car from keeps calling me, telling me about the used car shortage. My car is worth 3k more right now, than when I bought it a year ago.

Strange example: a 2018 E63 AMG with 22k Miles has been unable to sell for well over six months. They had it originally selling for $84k, then $82k, then $78k. In the past month they brought it up to $82k and as of right now, the listing is for $85,000! They’ve done the same with 2019 and a 2020 G63 AMG. They had them for $179k and $199k, now they’re both $195k and $219k. Insanity.

- Low inventory of new cars causes dealers to stock up on used cars and no reason to budge on price
- Chip shortage causing issues for new cars and probably wont be solved untill late 2021 or early 2022
I was looking at these cars:
2017-2018 Camaro SS 1LE. Prices went from $29K-$34K to now $35K-$40K
2015 M3/M4. Prices went from $35K-$40K to now $40K-$45K
I don't feel like overpaying...Last edited by pakmansc300; 04-21-2021 at 11:48 AM.

I wanted to buy my wife a used car, but ended up buying her a new one. I looked at 2019 models vs the 2021 models and the cost difference was so close I think it was a $1,000 dollar difference srs. It makes no sense to me that a 2 year old 20k mile car is similarly priced as a brand new model that had additional technology shyt + sunroof+ better audio set up.

My 2006 Yukon Denali is worth more than I bought it two years ago. I am literally driving it free right now.
Paid 5k for it. Can sell it for about 7k now LOL
And if I put it up for sell, it would probably sell immediately since no one can find clean used SUV's right now. Crazy man☼ "Don't stop. Never quit. No excuses." ☼

Chip shortage is real. All of the manufacturers are stopping production on less profitable models in order to keep production on more profitable ones.
Just bought a new '21 Silverado. I was floored that Chevy was still offering a $4,400 rebate. No other wiggle room on price.
Tried to trade my '15 GMC Sierra with 103k miles in, but they offered $2k under blue book (they offered $24k, where low trade was $26k), so I didn't trade it. Came home and did the "KBB instant cash offer" and it came back at $28k. First dealership that called me (within 2 minutes of submitting the information on kbb.com) asked me to bring it in. They gave me $29k.
Crazy times. You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.
