Plantarflexed vs. dorsiflexed in non-linear leg presses?

Is there any logic to foot flexion on different leg presses? For example, the Medx Avenger is slightly plantar flexed or neutral whereas the H-Squat is massively dorsiflexed. In general I would prefer a slightly plantar flexed position but was wondering if there are any downsides beyond eventually at extreme plantar flexion it becomes hard to move a lot of weight.
