/r squaredcircle worships the ground he walks on. They consider him the perfect wrestler and attribute the success AEW has entirely to the backstage work of Joey Janella. Apparently he's a talent scout, likes to bring up his trashy indy nobodies and get them work (probably getting paid in sex or drugs under the table for it).

I've seen this mentioned online multiple times as well, but never what exactly he does backstage and if he actually brought in any real talents. I mean most of their talent were somewhat known before or are exchangeable undercard guys so I kinda doubt it. MJF and maybe Jungle Boy would be the only people, that came more or less out of nowhere without an impressive pedigree and actually have important positions on the roster. Wikipedia tells me Jungle Boy was trained by Janela and MJF feuded with him multiple times before AEW. If he actually brought in MJF, that would be pretty amazing.
He still is a manlet with a physique resembling a sack of potatoes, a weird directionless gimmick(what makes him a bad boy? Why is he wearing those horrible outfits? What is his personality?) and mediocre in-ring abilities. He can somewhat talk and shows occasional flashes of charisma though. So not a perfect wrestler by any means. I think if he focussed his persona and got some more clear character direction, he could be okayish at best.

I went full Cornette when he got a main event opportunity with his buddy Omega and completely made a joke of it. After whatever move which ended up leading to his 1-2-3 loss, he all four of his arms in legs straight up in the air while on his back for a very uncomfortably stupid amount of time. Ha-ha, I guess.
Fuk him forever. I'll give Omega a pass for doing silly stuff in front of 30 people in Japan while someone filmed. I'll even give a pass to Chuck for that goddamn invisible hand grenade. Whatever stupid indy chit they did can be forgiven provided they take being on national TV seriously.
Janela doesn't. He blew it. He made a joke of the business for zero reason. That stunt wasn't funny. Nobody laughed. It was a fart in church and had no purpose. Fuk him.All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
