It's not just "media" either. People are like sheep and will latch onto anything. Look at how fast the "Asian problem" popped up. Guy shoots up a massage parlor and wow-lookie here a bunch of Asians. My experiences with meeting the police have been positive and friendly thankfully.

Where i grocery shop it's pretty typical for me to be shopping with police officers. I shop early in the morning often and for what ever reason there will be police in uniform along with ambulance drivers and crews picking up food. The two groups have a good time bantering with each other and with other shoppers. it can be kind of humorous at times.

In all honesty people are people. Bad things happen when people interact with people resisting arrest.

Just think of two imperfect people in pure panic doing something stupid.

A: They are there under terms of employment, not by choice.

Also, using force can be ugly and folks do not understand it. We aren't there to have a fair fight. We are there to complete a job using the tools, training, and laws provided. People know nothing of those things. If it goes wrong, see people response.

Personally I have huge problems with the police in America...but it's a top down problem. Going after the grunts on the street accomplishes nothing, and hurr durr defund the police is even dumber.

You, much like anti coppers, have a very strange lens in which you view us. We're just people showing up to work that have interest in the field. We aren't police all day. Hell most of us aren't police for the entire shift.

As far as striking is concerned, it's coming. We're currently being redlined in certain cities. Once one goes then some others will shortly after.

By and large we know a strike hurts people who have nothing to do with anything going on in politics. You'd have to convince me that it's worth it to jeopardize so many people who aren't involved. Many will die when it happens.
