Recently was talking with trainers about emergency situations they've been in where they were legit scared or nervous and had me thinking... what's the scariest flight you've ever been on.
Maybe some bad turbulence, bad storm, icing, etc .
Ive only ever been involved with a medical emergency on board, so was nothing that even stood out to others around me

Atlanta to seattle
Went through a storm halfway through at night
Spent a few days in seattle and ended up cancelling my flight to San Diego and just rented a car and drove down
I also never fly into Denver much anymore, I noticed flying into the Springs they use the smaller planes and not many people are on them so you can kick back and relax

Brisbane to Perth.
1st time I woke up thrown out of my seat with the plane firing towards the earth, stewardesses running screaming to the back of the plane, crying yelling, genuinely had to come to terms with death. We wind up making it out and when we land the stewardess went to the front of the plane and went "I'd like to thank the captain for royally ****ing up, **** YOU" then left. The captain never came out of the cockpit, door stayed locked.
2nd time an old man across from me died mid flight, they tried to pretend he wasn't dead but looking behind me and seeing a pair of feet on the floor for 2 hours was rough.

Hopped from Oahu to The Big Island at night during a crazy storm. At one point it felt like we were legit falling out of the sky. A couple of *******s started screaming which freaked everyone out even more. Sounded like the plane was about to get peeled open like a can of spam. I was legit making my peace with the Lort and telling myself at least I had a good run at it and left a couple sons behind to carry on my name.

Atlanta to Amsterdam
Flight left in the evening...ran into a heavy storm at night I think over the North Atlantic crossing over towards England then Netherlands.
I've flown many times, and that was by far the worst turbulence I've experienced. Prob only lasted for about 30 mins, but it seemed longer than that.
Plane was being tossed to the left and right...then that downward motion when you feel like you're falling out of the sky. Plane was completely full too I looked around and saw a lot of people with their eyes closed like they were praying lol.
One of the flight attendants was getting ready to serve dinner, and drinks with her push cart, but the turbulence started and she just ran back to her jump seat leaving the tray swaying back and forth in the aisle lmao. Good thing she hadn't taken out the food and drinks yet or else they would have gone flying everywhere lol.Arsenal FC

I fukn hate flying and haven’t ever had a bad experience besides from Denver to Portland. Turbulence. Pilot got on the intercom when the attendants were handing out water and said “get back to your seats” and they kind of hustled so I was freaked out.
Anyone have recommendations on flight anxiety? Thinking about going to get something strong from the doctor to knock me out"Stop sitting back saying yeah man, I wanna be this, I wanna be that, grab your phucking nuts and be it" -Greg Plitt

Coming back from Delhi India for work, had a connecting flight in Ontario California.
Jet lagged, tiered, sick from accidentally drinking tap water while in India. Took off from Ontario, 10 minutes into the flight, lost cabin power, plane started to drop fast. Plane banked really hard while dropping, oxygen masks deployed. Finally power came back and plane regained some altitude then made an emergency landing back at Ontario airport.
Not sure on the true story of what happened, they said plane lost power and the backup generator didn’t deploy for a few minutes which knocked out auto pilot and manual controls.
Regardless, made it home for the weekend and flew out to China the following Monday for a few weeks but had to be medicated to fly for the next couple months which sucked because I flew every week.

this one time there was a light storm but didn’t seem too daunting. saw the african american captain come aboard right after i had sat down and he looked a little fatigued kinda but also confident. didnt think much. not 5 minutes into the flight as we’re still ascending the plane seems to be going way too fast and the turbulence started rocking. idk it just seemed kind of out control. i gulped a bit but shortly after it all settled and the clouds parted so i knew we beat the bad part. captain even came out and made a joke on the intercom to ease us all. cool guy.
not too much time later though, it was like something blasted the side of the plane and it immediately jerked straight down almost vertical. my head almost hit the ceiling i swear i almost vomited. the entire passenger cabinet was screaming, a kid flew above the overhead cargo, all the oxygen masks came down and i thought we were nosediving straight into hell. i prayed my heart out and said my goodbyes in my head to all my loved ones.
then suddenly the plane completely rotated doing a 180 and we were coasting UPSIDE DOWN. swear to god the craziest thing ever. saw an apartment complex full of druggies and tradies as we passed a couple hundred feet over land srs. we crash landed next to a church and miraculously only 6 people died i think.
captain ended up being a drunk but he saved us srs.Discipline is the bridge between goal and accomplishment

Chartered Flight from Fort Lauderdale to the Bahamas. Plane was delayed in Phoenix causing us to miss our normal flight. Was on standby for the last flight of the night, but they only had 1 seat left, so I threw my wife on the plane.
Ended up chartering a King Air that night instead of waiting until the next morning. It was just me and the pilot. Legit thought I was going to die multiple times. Not only the usual up/down turbulence, but it was throwing the plane sideways. You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.

I find scary flights to be comforting and fun. I really enjoy them.
I go from a calming sigh to an excited wheeeee constantly.
I cant think of a more calming way to die.
No decisions to make
No way to change the outcome
Your job Is to sit there and just kinda....go away.
Dont even get me started on surviving. Surviving would be a blast. Brb living in the wilderness for a few days? Yes please

So you’re telling me with training and literal qualifications you can get someone to mentally like something? Like a program? You forget every human being has emotions, emotions are also developed young in certain conditions that have been “programmed” into humans for centuries.
So originates my first post. One where they hire based off skin color.Last edited by Olympia2018; 04-15-2021 at 03:50 PM.

None so far. But I once flew on a flight and experienced some really bad turbulence. For some reason, that is the time when the crew brings hot coffee or tea and it's really hard to drink when everything is shaking.
