to be fair, if all I had going for me was a McDonalds job I'd probably sit at home and collect unemployment lol ..
I guess in theory, McDonalds could pay their staff more if they are really hurting that much for workers, or maybe all the illegal immigrants that Biden wants to give a path for.positivity brah crew

Bro they employee 18-22 year olds. With 52% of 18-29 year olds living with their parents... I think this seems pretty reasonable...
600 mortgage/rent? Living with the parents? LMAO OKAY.
Whats wrong w/ the car payment/insurance? They arne't paying home insurance. $250 pretty reasonable on a $5000 civic.
Electric? Parents aint making them pay.
Phone? $100 reasonable... probably on parents phone plan if they at home though.
If you're 25 living on your own, working at mcdonalds and expecting to live the good life or have some amazing quality of life? You've failed. The USA owes them NOTHING. They have all the opportunity to "go get it" if they made better choices.
I consistently BTFO of you every single **** take you have. Do better ernesto. Logic and reasoning is not your forte.

Fast food workers are going to be the first ones replaced by automation. Crime rate and poverty is going to skyrocket in the coming decades as a large segment of the work force is rendered obsolete.
Hopefully I will be dead by then. It is going to become a true dystopia on the level of Robocop. The wealthy will segregate themselves further from the common class and employ their own private security. Society is going to become lawless.
Just look at countries with 10-15% youth unemployment rate. They are literal chitholes filled with crime and violence. Now imagine when the US unemployment rate hits 30%.

Completely 100% agree with you. Yet current government political positions is to keep pushing it that way. Allow people to collect free $$, more .gov cheese. Take away more rights while they continue to segregate themselves away with security. Comical how people think this is the right way to go.

Do you believe if McDonalds started paying $15/hr they would stay in business?

Run all small business out, only big ones remain.
They collude to push wages down.
Long term, we are worse off. People think they’re going to wait for a better wage are in for a rude awakening when all the big companies during a “retreat” agree to pay “$X.”
Then it’s truly over. Stupid people are poor for a reason.-Misc Pilot/Airplane Owner Crew

This is true. I’ve interviewed/hired people for a small family business for years. The lack of responses to ads lately is pretty bad. There isn’t much incentive to work these days, and plenty of reasons/incentives not to.
I've been seeing the past in one eye and the present in the other. So, I thought I could only see patches of reality, never the whole picture. I felt like I was watching a dream I could never wake up from. Before I knew it, the dream was over.

Yes, I think they would. They might increase prices, but that has already been happening and they are still around.
My guess would be that they would leverage more automation, like ordering kiosks, and focus on having fewer/better quality employees running their restaurants.INTP Crew

Look what happened in Texas. A few days of snow and people literally started starving and freezing to death. They were begging for help from the federal government even though Texas-cels always pretended to be independent cowboys.
If chit hits the fan, the US is done for. 1 in 3 Americans own firearms and without rules or structure people are going to murder each other for a can of beans. I seriously hope I die before automation becomes reality.
I read that over 1/3 of all jobs in the US can be easily replaced by machines. 30% unemployment rate and US cities will start looking like favelas. I mean certain parts of downtown in large cities already look it like with all the homeless encampments, open drug markets, public defecation, etc.

The funny thing is that recruiters and employers will say exactly what you're saying while a stack of resumes collects dust on their desk.
Some people don't want to work. But employers sabotage themselves with bogus hiring processes, even at mcjobs.
I mean, there's definitely some truth to what you said because I experience it at work too.

As someone who is looking for a job atm, it actually is pretty depressing seeing all the jobs available in my field. Half the positions available I would have to take an almost 50% pay cut, no joke. The same positions posted again and again, never learning the lesson. If nobody is applying then maybe bump up the ****ing salary, eh? Of course employers won't do that.
brb BS degree required
brb min 3 years technical experience
brb $46k/year
brb nobody apply
brb maybe we should try posting the job again
