unemployment rn pays 2k a month. the same as or more than minimum wage. you can't blame people who would rather take the money. we need to stop paying so much for unemployment of young people.

To me it looks like the working and middle class are being forced to eat the inflation.
A crucial measure of how far from full recovery the economy remains is the growth of nominal wages (wages unadjusted for inflation). Nominal wage growth since the recovery officially began in mid-2009 has been low and flat. This isn’t surprising—the weak labor market of the last seven years has put enormous downward pressure on wages. Employers don’t have to offer big wage increases to get and keep the workers they need. And this remains true even as a jobs recovery has consistently forged ahead in recent years.
Macroeconomic policy (including monetary policy) that prioritized very low rates of inflation over low rates of unemployment is a key reason why real wages have stagnated for the vast majority of American workers in recent decades (as we have shown through our Raising America’s Pay initiative).
Until nominal wages are rising by 3.5 to 4 percent, there is no threat that price inflation will begin to significantly exceed the Fed’s 2 percent inflation target. And it will take wage growth of at least 3.5 to 4 percent for workers to begin to reap the benefits of economic growth—and to achieve a genuine recovery from the Great Recession.
Wages grew largely because more than 80% of the 9.6 million net jobs lost in 2020 were jobs held by wage earners in the bottom 25% of the wage distribution. The exit of 7.9 million low-wage workers from the workforce, coupled with the addition of 1.5 million jobs in the top half of the wage distribution, skewed average wages upward.INTP Crew

I was thinking about finally quitting my wage slave job and using the gains I've made from cryptos to finally start a small business (always been my goal/dream).
But I'm not so sure anymore. This past year has shown how easy it is for some random event to completely crush your business. Even small/medium size businesses that have been profitable for decades have been closing left and right.
Sucks bruh.

its because we are living in hyper inflation
no one wants to work for 7 to 11 dollars an hour when house are exploding in prices, used cars are exploding up, healthcare is getting more expensive, and even basic goods are expensive now
i estimate inflation to have been 25% this past year
if you didnt get a raise by at least 20-25 %, you are worse off now
100% ded fkn srs, the government and economic elites are too afraid to let the secret out (which is why they are all buying stocks, gold, and bitcoin)
