On the other hand, I hate sensationalism. For 99.99999999% of us, vaccines are the optimal solution, if we choose to get them. I'm just sick of the stay-at-home do-gooders sharing sensational stories like: "ZOMG! Guise the J&J vaccine is deadly! Please don't take it, if you have, drop what you're doing and see a doctor immediately!!!"

I disagree. I would say for anyone who is immune-compromised (or knows they will be around someone who is) and they have not already been exposed and gotten over covid - those people should strongly consider a vaccine.

We know the numbers, the deaths are almost all coming from the elderly. If someone is under 50 and in normal health for someone that age, your mortality rate is double-flu range or if you're under 30, less than a flu. Children under 18 account for 300 deaths in total of the 433,000.

One of the reasons covid spreads so rapidly is that a lot of people get it and it's so mild they don't even realize they are sick. When I believe I had it (kid lost taste, felt fatigued, I had the same symptoms day later), it was like very bad allergies. Nothing even close to a flu, which it's been awhile but getting the flu is awful. Stayed out of the gym for the week, rested, got tested (tested negative, shows how reliable they are), felt better in a few days.

I'm not discounting that for some it is a very hard experience, people can die and such, just saying - this notion that 99.9999% desperately must get a vaccine? Nope. At risk people do. Normal people or those who've had it in particular don't need a vaccine.

Do we need to rethink this - there are 31M cases in the US, only ten percent of the population over a year. I know there have been a lot of cases that went undiagnosed but then again there were a lot of questions about some positive tests too.
