    Liver fans chime in

Not expecting many people are fans of beef liver, I love the nutritional profile...can't think of a more nutrient dense food other than other organ meats.

Beverly makes a liver tab that's been on the market and sold here on BB.com for many years, been taking it forever.

Minus liver and onions to make the taste more palatable, if anyone has any good recipes i'm all ears.

Only drawback i can think of is it might contain a little too much vitamin A so it's best to not over do it.

Beef liver is great, particularly calf liver which is usually more tender out of the two. I like eating it with carmelized onions and mushrooms along with mashed potatoes on the side with a green of choice...I'll usually pour tabasco sauce on both the liver and mashed potatoes.

I wasn't aware of the calf liver differences in tenderness, i'll look specifically for that this time around. Yes the onions and shrooms make a huge diffrence, they blend well with the strong taste. I think it's such an under rated, power packed source of nutrition. When you compare it to any other muscle meat for that reason it's well above the rest.

And yes guys it's definitely an acquired taste but then again people think tofu tastes good!

I do this minus the Tabasco. Never tried it, but a guy I work with said sometimes they’ll just chop it up and mix it in with a ground meat then use in spaghetti, hamburgers, or anything else you’d use ground meat for. I have 2 packs of livers coming from a local farm this week so I might try it. Guy said even his kids would eat it so I’m sure it’s probably pretty good, and a nice way to get a more nutritional meat into meals.

That's definitely a creative way to get some in and sounds like a good combination as well. Another one I heard although never tried it yet, was once cooked to chop some up and stick the pieces in ice cube trays and then when making home made chili toss 'em in there...might even be a good combo with the above mentioned of mixing it up with the ground meat since that's one of the main ingredients in chili and just tossing it all together in there, should make for a very full bodied chili.

Organ meats are often the most nutrient dense parts of an animal. It's a shame that most people have lost or never acquired a taste for them.

Tofu is basically tasteless... only tastes good (imo) if baked and covered in some kind of sauce. In which case, it tastes like sauce.

Yup. In the right sauce and cooking style, it can be great.

    Teriyaki
    Sweet Chili
    Sesame Ginger

Super good when air-fried with those.

Sounds a lot better than a slimy red organ, but hey, to each theirown

Wow, what century are we in? "Soyboy"? Really?

What's next, are you going to start calling me a 'phag'?

    Grow up.

And BTW, if you think shooting an animal with a gun or a bow is somehow 'manly'... I would ask: is it really impressive to shoot a projectile at an animal from a piece of technology that literally removes 99% of the effort? OoooOOOooOoo big man..

You're not tough, impressive, or manly because you can kill something. Though maybe you can tell all your incel friends about it while crying over a case of Pabst complaining about why you haven't had sex in 2 years.

Liver vs blood sausage? Which is better

Isn’t liver really high in cholesterol? Isn’t the right way to cook it battered and fried?

I used to eat chicken livers with bacon and other seasonings for awhile. It eventually got old and I went back to my old habits.

Beef liver is high in cholesterol, in chicken liver it's even higher. it was a golden era of bodybuilding staple as well. vince gironda was a big fan of it and i can see why. cholesterol is the building block of anabolic hormones.

it's almost like a multi vitamin but stronger in some areas. nothing new here, just forgotten.
