    Cutting while inactive?

Hey guys, I have recently had surgery and will be inactive for around 2 months. Before this I was going through a cutting phase and I’m wondering is that sensible to continue while I’m out of the gym or should I eat at maintenance until I can return?

Maintenance - it's not worth the muscle loss to try dieting.

    What they said ^^^

If its anything bone related, from the experience of speaking with my surgeon(s) it is extremely important to take in a wealth of protein as well as 1500 IU of Vitamin D and 500mg Vitamin C.

I am obviously NOT A DOCTOR. But just relaying what was explained to me, not telling you what to do.

Also, if you're going to be inactive a further induced deficit is not where you want to be. Eat a balanced diet and give your body time to recover. Its already working hard enough.

Recovering from surgery is the absolute WORST time to be in a calorie deficit. Your body needs healing energy. Plenty of nutrients especially protein and drink lots of water
If you don't get what you want you didn't want it bad enough

this and above is great advice. You literally could extend the amount of time it takes to heal being at deficit. Granted if you were morbidly obese and you are working under your doctors advice and supervision that would be different. I could see this for knee or back surgery if they wanted you at a lower weight to take some of the stress off the injury. Will you be doing physical therapy? What is the surgery for? When I had all my knee surgeries I was still able to do upper body. Do talk to your doctor though and ask them whatever you decide
