Yea, legendary. He never had the "chicks dig the long ball" stats, but a lot of his stats are straight video game level.

7 seasons he batted above .350. Never hit below 300 except for his rookie year which was a 1/3 of the season.
In 1995 he had 197 hits and 15 strikeouts. Lmao

I remember hearing commentators talking about how he was the only player they knew of that could direct the ball to exactly the spot he wanted to hit it.

Favorite pitcher was Maddux, but Gwynn was an absolute beast at contact. Probably why he had such good success vs Maddux. Maddux was never going to blow it by him.
