What is this guys end game?
Is he trying to replicate Rock's success?
Or do you think he knows he's an ass clown?
In the new Suicide Squad he's making jokes about eating dicks...

Jawn Cena in Hollywood
...and according to which an ensign might rank incomparably higher than a general, and according to which what was needed for success in the service was not effort or work, or courage, or perseverance, but only the knowledge of how to get on with those who can grant rewards, and he was himself often surprised at the rapidity of his success, and at the inability of others to understand these things

What's wrong with playing a funny character?
He is just doing what he is good at: Improvising jokes and goofy lines
It's what he did for a decade in WWE being one of the few guys with the creative freedom to do his own promo. Now he is doing that on film. He was the same in that otherwise unwatchable Amy Schumer film, where he is the allegedly improvised all his jokes. Some wrestler, I don't know which one anymore, the Cena in that Amy Schumer film is 100% the Cena he knows from backstage.
He is not a character actor, not a traditional pretty boy, nor can he play the silent stoic action hero. His skill is being a wisecracking dude, that throws in random lines he made up on the fly. That's his one ability he is better at than any Hollywood actor and he is using it well.
As for replicating the Rock? It took the Rock nearly a decade and a failed movie career to embrace his own persona, instead of trying to be an actor slimming down to 200lbs etc. . He bulked up massively went back to wrestling and suddenly became a household name. Batista also scored his biggest hits, when he stayed himself. (His Drax character is basically him from the Taxi Driver Wrestlemania trailer) So yeah Cena is doing really well. He knows what he's good at and uses that, instead of deluding himself into thinking he will be the next Arnold.
Looking at his stick I guess his best possible end game for him would be a white jacked Eddie Murphy.Last edited by I3igAl; 04-07-2021 at 06:34 AM.

LOL I3igAl
A white jacked Eddie Murphy you say?
Assuming you aren't trolling.
He has nowhere near the comedic talent of Eddie Murphy.
Good post otherwise....and according to which an ensign might rank incomparably higher than a general, and according to which what was needed for success in the service was not effort or work, or courage, or perseverance, but only the knowledge of how to get on with those who can grant rewards, and he was himself often surprised at the rapidity of his success, and at the inability of others to understand these things

The Rock wore a tutu and was the Tooth Fairy early on in his acting career.
He also got a spin-off tv series for that character before the movie has even came out, so he’s obviously doing pretty well.

Depends on what stage of his career of Eddie Murphy you are talking about. 2000s Eddie Murphy is way worse than Cena at comedy and has consistently produced films, that are on the worst of all time list.
But I certainely believe being the lead in some action comedy similar to Beverly Hills Cop or the Golden Child would be the kind of movie, that suits Cena best. Way better than putting him in silent tough guy roles.
Or casting him as Thanos in the Avengers as was originally rumored/supposed to happen.

IIT, unless you are the most successful Hollywood actor in the business within your first 5 years, you are a joke and nothing. Anything less than the Rock?! Bah!
He'll be #3 behind Rock and Batista and still more successful than every person scoffing him by a factor of 1,000. I'm not even a Cena fan in the least but can appreciate this. All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

i think he has a chance to surpass batista honestly. just seeing him interview on tv...he plays that goofy, affable, not rocking the boat, politically correct clown role to a t. he's like a white wayne brady...but jacked and an ex wrestling superstar...so you can buy him as the lead in an action movie.

So when half the crowd was 8 year olds cheering Cena and the other half were adults booing him with passion, I guess you guys were the kids?
Except you never grew up?...and according to which an ensign might rank incomparably higher than a general, and according to which what was needed for success in the service was not effort or work, or courage, or perseverance, but only the knowledge of how to get on with those who can grant rewards, and he was himself often surprised at the rapidity of his success, and at the inability of others to understand these things

He was pretty good in that C*ck Blockers movie playing a goofball dad.
He wasn't in much but he was decent - what is it, Daddy's Home 2 I think? With Wahlburg and FarrellBoomer Rep Crew #1

Blockers was actually hilarious, especially the parts with Cena. When he locks eyes with the other guy lmao.
He's got a new movie coming out soon that was filmed a couple years back with Jackie Chan. I think it's a military meets kung fu movie, hope its good.
In regard to Cena/ Batista in Hollywood. Batista has been in more big mainstream stuff (due to being in superhero movies) but Cena himself is a lot more popular.Last edited by Nacured; 04-09-2021 at 08:21 AM.
