Budget: $30,000
Must haves: FWD or AWD (live in Illinois)
Sedan, I want the 4 Door space for family reasons
Looking for something that is a bit of "entry level luxury" if that exists. 2018 year and up. Not planning to modify anything. Some beef and power would be appreciated but not necessary. Feel like anything will be an upgrade from my 2005 Pontiac POS.
Some cars that I am interested in so far:
Kia Stinger
Kia K5
Acura ILX
Acura TLX
Lincoln MKZ
Any opinion on these cars? Are they chick cars? Are there any blatant/obvious options I should take a look at?

I was gonna say a 2019 used Kia Stinger GT2, but damn these used car prices are crazy.
Probably find a lower end trim for around that price if you don't mind.Italian Crew

Yeah GT2 would be out of my comfortable range. I would be looking at base or premium model which I am ok with. They still look slick and have some good zip to them
Possibly, but most I see in my area are RWD and the lady despises the look of it lol
Interdasting. Sounds like it might be an Integra reboot?
OK, Stinger was my top option so far, but this looks promising, hot damm gonna have to give this one a good look

been driving for a year...ask anything..glides like butter on highway at 80 mph. super quiet cabin but 250hp & 310 lb ft torque so has a nice punchiness to it. probably the most understated sedan in the understated market.
interior is very premium leather and clean like slightly older BMWs before they became gadgety.
only con: doesn't come in AWDLast edited by Nocturnal310; 04-05-2021 at 11:23 PM.

I'd check out the Japanese and Korean brands (except Nissan) and VW. They all make mid-size sedans that compete in the same market. If you're not a car guy with a strong brand preference it makes sense to sit in them, test drive them and see what speaks to you. Every opinion you get here is biased based on what we like because we're car people
I'd then compare used car prices to the new ones - normally it makes sense to buy used but the used market is insane and you might not be getting as big of a discount as you'd expect

You could get a nice used Tundra or F150 for $30k. Trucks are comfortable and useful daily drivers - a lot more interior room in the cabin and around the legs in a truck, and the suspension and tires absorb more impact from the road/potholes so the ride quality is better. Plus trucks have 4x4 so they are less limited in where they can travel, and they hold onto their value better. I really think trucks make better luxury vehicles than cars.

i did a TON of driving this winter in upstate NY and on all season tires...some of the hiking trailheads were covered in frozen hard ice, and I had no issues getting in and out of them. I even went over some powdery snow in parking areas and i was fine..Did some driving in light snow covered roads and it was fine too. the steering wheel has very good direct feel so you always know your traction...I wouldnt be driving it in a blizzard though but then no one should be driving in a blizzard anyway regardless of AWD and winter tires.
Try not to park it in more than 4 inches snow and you should be good and not get stuck.
Good thing about FWD is that you dont have to worry about hydroplaning and backseat passengers are more comfy in FWD
Its a pretty heavy car, goes over things easily and even if a giant semi goes past you in opposite direction of the road, the wind blast doesnt shake the car....its a pretty aerodynamic & grounded car.
I have the grand touring ....which has same power as top trim but lacks power folding mirrors and memory seats..would have gotten grand touring reserve if they had it in my fav color.
I am enjoying mazda experience so farLast edited by Nocturnal310; 04-10-2021 at 07:58 AM.

I would honestly recommend not spending 30k SRS just get some used and a few years old for sub 20k and you'll be a lot happier in 5 years trust me cars are PURE cope unless you're spending like 100k+ and you're a 10k/day ceo.

My brother has a K5, and it's pretty nice, very smooth and comfortable. I have a Stinger GT2 AWD, and I like it well enough, the Mazda 6 is also very nice. See what dealer and brand has the best deals and incentives, and go from there.
