    Just saying Hi

So just over a year ago I started lifting. Had never touched a barbell in my life. Things went good. I was doing 5x5 stronglifts. Last August in hit the 1000lb club. Then a couple months ago I got a concussion so took a couple weeks off. Then I fell on the ice and hit my head again. Ha. So had to just stop lifting for a while. I would get nasty headaches from it. Anyways I guess my question is has anyone ever had i similar injury. It seems to still effect me. Its been about 2.5 months. If you have how long did it take to fully recover? Mostly it just seems to effect my word choice. Like the other day I was going to the store. And told my kids, Dad has to go to work now. Ha. Honestly it makes me feel stupid. Ha at the beginning of March I started lifting again but drop the weight alot. Just gonna hit a workout. From the year of lifting I gained 15 pounds. How much is muscle or fat who knows. Thats going off of my yearly physical. Last year I wanted to see how much I could lift. This year will be losing some fat.

I've had a relative that had a very severe brain injury, initial recovery is fast but then it slows down and the last bits of recovery can take a really long time to heal. Have a chat with your doc!

You've only lifted a year and you have those stats? Wow, you are a strong ******! Good work

The doctors say it just takes time and that I'm not in my 20s anymore so I won't heal as fast. Ha. How dare they call me old. Ha. Been back at it slowly working my way back up. Just living the dream. Ha

    Cool

I had never heard of anyone making a big deal over concussions until the last few years. I’ve had probably 50 or more from football and fighting and car wrecks. I once had some guys beat my head in with a baseball bat. Once I got jumped and knocked completely out abs a guy told me that while I was out they kept pounding my face in and then later I got back up and started fighting and they did it again. I never thought about it. Honestly Just drink sone beer and you will be ok
