My company would have to pay me at least $500k to consider doing an MBA, even at a top tier.
Fuk that chit, unless you legit need it for a dream career change.

Because Iโm more concerned about work-life balance. Always have been. The benefit would have to be massively significant to my well-being to do extra study/work.
One of the biggest regrets people have on their deathbed is being a corporate career cuck working significant hours over an extended period of time.
The pay off better be very clear and concise to a more fulfilling life to warrant that MBA investment and/or generally working long hours.
One thing thatโs certainly retarded is doing any of this stuff for โstatusโ.๐ฎ๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ถ, ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐

Yeah I can get that. I am lucky to be in tech. I have never had a job where I've worked over 40 hours a week even ones im getting paid 200k a year to do (Except maybe like 1 week a year when going live with a huge implementation). Obviously I havent gotten to 500k a year but I've had CTOs before that I've interacted with adn they work less hours than I do. I understand CEOs and GMs and COOs and CFOs work crazy hours but the CTO rarely does.
This last year I got paid over 200k for the year and I worked maybe 3 or 4 weeks, they kept me on even though we were shut down due to covid.. they didn't want to have to deal with hiring someone else when they came back online.

From my experience, not worth it unless it is a personal goal or possibly a very prestigious school that carries a lot of clout to open new doors especially considering you don't even want to progress in management roles. Your ability to sell yourself in the interview process highlighting your skills and previous success is going to be much more important than having an MBA on your resume.

Eh... it depends on the person and the role within finance. I'm in investment banking and everyone that works with or for me is from some ivy league school and most have an MBA - except me. I only got my undergrad in business and worked my way to managing director solely because I'm a top producer. Meanwhile one of the analysts that works for me has a medical degree from Stanford.
In my industry once you make it to the top no one gives 2 chits where you went to school or what degree you got. However, when you're seeking a job or trying to move up... an advanced degree can only help.YOU ARE NOT A SLAVE

An MBA is only worth it if you are going to a top school like Penn, Stanford, or Harvard. MBA from any place else will get you laughed out of the building by the big boys.
Your better option is to go back, take all the necessary accounting classes, and get your CPA. Way, way more valuable. "But I hate accounting". We all do, but CPA is your golden ticket to the big time. Most CEO's, Presidents, Chief financial officers come from an accounting background. When it comes to rep power, just remember this. Better red than dead. Your reps mean squat in real life. Just thank the lord that you have your health.
