    There are some concerns about long term supplementation of NAC, which is why I'm cycling NAC, but the overwhelming research indicates it has a beneficial role in both liver and kidney protection from toxins.

    So, if I know I'm going to be supplementing with chemicals that are known to cause liver damage or increase toxicity, I'll take NAC along with it for peace of mind.

    From my understanding, boron is only going to help if high SHBG levels are the cause for your low free T, as boron can lower SHBG. And even then it probably won’t make much of a difference.



    Just remembered that I forgot to post my update in here so I’ll drop a super-abridged version but answer any questions people may have. Was getting back on track early in the year and feeling really good. Starting dropping off and eventually tried the booster recommended in here. Actually felt worse throughout the 6-8 weeks. Ordered my test and took it just to compare(results from my first test are in this thread and remember my free t was actually low during it as well despite feeling pretty good). Sent in my test and got a response of “insufficient testing material” or something like that…basically didn’t put enough blood on the test pad. But at that point I had already reached out to a men’s health clinic and had a test scheduled for what they need(FSH, LH, total T, and free T). Everything looked good except free T(which remember was even low on my first test). Total T was in the mid-upper 500’s, but on a scale of basically 9-30 my free T was in the low 10’s. Almost certainly my high SHBG is eating up all my T so my body can’t utilize it. And I already incorporate a lot of the things that can lower SHBG like vitamin D, magnesium, and others. Boron has been shown to to increase free T by around 20%…which sounds good, until you realize that would only put me at around 12 when my clinic is aiming to get me around 25-30…so I’d still only be at half of what I could get to with supplementation. Yeah, there are good and bad aspects of either approach, but I started TRT and will see how it goes.





    Ok, so that wasn’t really all that shortened, but wanted to make sure I covered the main aspects since my last check in.

    crap man that really sucks, i honestly thought we were going to get an 800 plus update. upper 500's isn't low at all but not optimal either, mark gordon wants a high 600 range or more for being "optimal". the free is a big concern though, do you know what the culprit is? it's not like you're a bit on the lower side it's way too low for your age/shape etc.

    also did you email mike mahler with your results/concerns? he's been helpful to me when i don't know what the heck is going on. as an example the recommendation for upping my vitamin D and taking dhea (which is sold here on bodybuilding so i don't get banned for talking about it).

    Thanks man. And yeah, the bottomed out free t is almost certainly what was causing my issues. Since my LH and FSH levels looked decent and my total t was decent I’m almost certain that my SHBG is tying up my t and lowering my free t levels. I already do lots of things that are supposed to lower SHBG(not for that specific purpose, just as part of a healthy routine) and didn’t really want to add boron to the mix for negligible benefits. I know that heavy workouts can raise SHBG, but I’m not really willing to cut those out of my routine…plus the health benefits of lifting are something I want to maintain. Never reached out to Mahler because I feel confident that I know what the issue is. Plus he is on TRT himself so not sure why he would try to steer me away from it.

    Minor update

    I'm about 18 days in, starting with 2 caps instead of 3, and I can feel it

    Bulbine Natalensis is the real deal, I'll keep buying Aggressive Strength

    The ingredients in RED probably aren't giving me this feeling, but I'll still finish up the bottles of RED I bought, and when I run out, I'll replace it with CEL M-Test for cheaper

    I’m glad you’re noticing effects from it, I do too when I’m on vs the tail end of my off cycle.

    I’ve never used RED but did use all the ingredients separately to make my own cocktail. Can’t say I noticed anything at all from it but I wasn’t on it long or consistent enough.

    Yes bulbine is the real deal, just remember to cycle off. I noticed no negative effects in my blood work from it (liver numbers) but again, would do 8 week cycles at only two caps.

    Just watched that myself. The other one he mentioned, besides tongkat ali, was fadogia agrestis. I'd be interested to see how they compare to bulbine.

    the problem with bulbine is the lack of human studies, mostly done on rats.

    it is an improvement for myself and others but no where near the 300 percent increase shown in rat studies. more like a range between 20 and 80 percent in free testosterone .

    the rest of you guys using it, any updates so far? i get tested again in two weeks, like clockwork every cycle this is about the time i start feeling my best (week 6).
