A muscle car with the sound and power I crave or the sti with the drive ability I crave.

I mean the first thing I plan to do with either is make it louder. The sti I really feel like I'll fall down a a rabbit hole of mods where the charger I think I could just stick an exhaust on and be satisfied

I am in snow but it really doesn't matter, I have a jeep wrangler as my weekend car so I can take that in the snow. Though I would drive my sti in the snow for fun purposes probably.

Also I think if I do sti I want to wait for the 2022, it's going to be a big redesign. But I also have no patience..
Wellll, you’re not going to be able to get that in your price point though... plus, the newer you get, the more robot like the cars become. The 2021 STI has less power than the earlier series vehicles. And you can’t MOD them if you don’t want to potentially void the warranty.

I get the American muscle. We have a 1974 cammed up 383 ‘cuda. It’s also manual, so fun to drive. So, I get what you are saying.

Out of the two though, as fun as the cuda is and as sexy as is sounds, it’s not as versatile as the STI and the STI is faster. Test drive them on the same day and see how you feel. A V8 is cool but they are fukkin hogs, so be prepared to pay for the fuel. I’m not sure what the newer ones are like (Flex would know better) but I had a Dodge Durango with the V8 Hemi in it and it killed me.

2014 BMW M5 for ~$30-33k. Twin turbo V8 that sounds great and makes amazing power with a tune, RWD, nice interior, baller daily

You have a Wrangler for snow, the M5 would be a baller luxury muscle sedan for every other road condition

Or you could daily the Wrangler and get something like a C6 Z06 for a weekend toy if you want a manual (or split daily duty with it). More reliable than the BMW and depreciates less, C6 Z06 is 100% a future classic. But the M5 would be a better daily for most

I have a C7 Z06 and I daily it from April through October. My SRT 392 is now my winter beater. LOL.

The Z06 is surprisingly 'practical' for a 2-door sports car. The cargo area is quite large and usable. We've done a couple road trips in it and even a few Costco runs. Trips to the gym with both our gyms bags no issue at all, of course.

And what's not to like about 650 HP and a 7-speed manual?

Here's the cargo area with 2 carry-on size bags for one of our road trips. Lots of room for larger bags too.

This isn't helping me keep a budget lololol ****kkkkk. My house now doesn't have a garage, I plan on selling this place in a few years, that's when I planned on stepping up to something like a vette or similar. My driveway space also sort of sucks, it's kind off a main road and not very deep, good amount of foot traffic walks by. Truly I would just feel unease with my vette basically parked near the street 24/7 for some hater to **** with.
Yes... come and let us make an end of it. It matters not, even cornered, to my last breath... I remain who and what I am. I will not hide, nor tremble, nor beg. Let them come and reckon with fury that is DOOM defiant.

I have a garage but it's barely big enough for a car (townhouse) and since our city mandates 3 separate garbage bins I can't fit either car in it. One car is always in the driveway and one is always in storage somewhere.

We're looking to buy a bigger house to solve that issue.

And yeah, those C7 Z06's are really holding their value, if not going up a bit. Especially the manual ones since the C8 is auto only. I bought mine 2 years ago and I could sell it for same or slightly better money now. I did get a smoking deal on it though. No regerts.

They have come a long way for sure, however literally anyone I’ve known who bought one ended up with problems, and these weren’t small issues but powertrain and the dealers weren’t quick to replace them even while under warranty.

I think I'm going to let it stir until later this year or next year.

I had my subaru serviced today and they guy said they will take pre orders for new stis in August. I also want to wait for the new Nissan z to drop. If neither of those really do it for me I think it's charger. The more I watch reviews on them they really seem to check all the boxes I like, but I don't want to commit to one without checking out the new sti and Nissan z first.

Nissan z is my favorite car of all time, not so much the newer 350 or 370 but the older Datsun. The new one really looks like it pays homage to it and I am digging it alot.

Tbh if I could find a rebuilt Datsun I would just buy that and keep my impreza to daily. I've looked but I don't know much about them to even know what's a good deal or not.

Also... Mazda’s have the tiniest little peddles ever. Brake and clutch at the same time.
have you been in a newer mazda? they are pretty well-designed.
    the pedals are good too..lol

If I were to get a Mazda it would be a miata, but meh.

Tbh the 2019 impreza limited I have is fully loaded and is sick inside, I really have no issues with the car other then it's too slow. It even handles incredibly for what it is and I love hatchbacks. I threw some 18 inch bronze sparco rims and michelin pilots and it's really an awesome ride and I even think it looks good. But. So. Slow. 0-60 is 10 seconds.

I meant manual, but it’s probably been at least 12 years since I drove one, now that you mention it, lol. Maybe they fixed that issue!

I’d get a civic over a miata... I’d probably get anything over a miata.

I owned a 2002 Hyundai Accent. That little grape was the first car I bought myself and the only car I will ever buy new. I echo what krackerjacked said, they’ve come a long way. I also had to get a new tranny put in at 88,000km. Thankfully it was still on warranty and I sold it right after. Then I drove a 1988 Dodge Rampage... we still drive that lil sl-ut around. It’s a lot of fun AND a half tonne.

I did pick up my STI on Thursday and lawwwdddddd that car is SO MUCH FUN. No regrets on that purchase. It has the sport tech package and I can see the ground clearance being an issue but I’ll worry about that when I have to. Definitely has a weird cult like following that you see when you are out in public.

If I were to get a new mazda I'd look at the turbo mazda3 hatch. 0-60 is something like 5sec...If you're into modding I imagine lots of room for improvement on this platform. I'm not sure the pricepoint is a selling point for many though. I imagine if I were spending 30k or more on a car it wouldn't be a mazda3
