Installing a game on PC has been the most PAINFUL experience....
I haven't gamed since like 2006... (ps2, san adreas)
Got a laptop that is capable of running GTA V, so I'm like "sick, been wanting to try that chit" (yes, I'm late AF lol)
1. downloaded game (took about 10 hours)
2. couldn't install game because the download took up too much space so didn't have enough room to now install it
3. tried moving the game to 256gb flash drive
4. rockstar games didn't recognize file after I moved it and re-downloaded entire game (took about 20 hours the second time LOL)
5. installed game to flash drive because the game attempted to download a third time when I tried to install it to my C: drive from the flash drive
6. game finally installed
7. started to play the game and it crashed after about 5 minutes
8. I clicked "verify game" to check for corrupt files
9. rockstar is now re-downloading some 3gb patch for the detected corrupt files
what in the fuk
It's been like 4 days total now between me sleeping, working, downloading, patching, updating, moving files.
Is this what life is? my PS2 from 2006 was easily a hundred times easier and more intuitive.
You need to be borderline I.T. professional just to load a game

Sounds like you rolled right into a bad set of circumstances lol but file size is less of an issue with new gear, you can get a 6TB HDD for cheap and a 2TB M.2 SSD for a reasonable price as well

I get it, but the fact rockstar failed to inform me I actually need double the space in order to install my game is laughable. Then their software couldn't even detect my download.Originally Posted by Destor

Sounds about right for online downloads.
I just started a GTA V replay (beat it around 2015) and it still holds up pretty well. Online is a waste of time IMO unless you are a no-lifer. So many hackers and sweaties.ωσяℓ∂ тяανєℓєя ȼяєω

If its a Windows 10 computer you would be surprised how much you can clean up to save space.
Between uninstalling that festering mess in the start menu that came preinstalled and that you will never use and the mountain of crap Windows keeps around 'just in case' you can clear up multiple GB of space.
This is a VM I use for testing stuff.
Eat in a deficit to lose weight.
Hit your protein and fat minimums to stay healthy and keep your gainz.
Lift heavy and do HIIT to look and feel awesome.
Use the internet to learn why you should do these things and how to do these things.

pretty sure that's mainly the fault of rockstar. their games are a HUGE pain in the ****ing ass. brb trying to stream in my living room and god damned rockstar launcher needs permissions so i have to go into the ****ing room with the pc in it to click out of that ****.

Did you not check game size against your storage? I’m thinking not because the original download failed.

If you dont have an ssd and hardwired to your router then its going to be slow asf. Only downside to downloading games.
