see title boyos - going to be picking up a vehicle for work travel soon. Would like something 25+ mpg, around $25k, trips usually 1-3 hours. AWD is a plus.

I have a 2019 Subaru impreza limited hatchback, got it for that exact criteria basically. It's a sweet car with nice features, but a little slow (alot slow).
It's amazing in the snow as long as it's not too much since the car is low. Hatchback still let's me to put crap in the back with the fold flat seats if I need to. It's like 26 city 31 highway or something. Good milage but it has a small tank which annoys me,so about 250miles per tank I get give or take how I'm driving. Theres paddle shifters for the bs cvt so it's like faux fun on a windy road to beat on it. I got the limited which is the highest package so it has every feature the newest subarus offer. Distance pacing cruise control, auto braking, headlights that turn with the wheel, car play Yada Yada.
I like the car but I plan on selling mine this year I think for something more fun to drive. Also if you are a big dude it might not be the most comfy car.
If you want something bigger check out a Mazda cx7 or Nissan murano or something.Sometimes I park in handicap spaces, while handicap people make handicap faces

I've rented to about 1800 traveling construction workers over the years. Probably 80% of them drive a Ford Chevy or Dodge half or 3/4 ton truck.

Buy a 1 year old Fusion Titanium 2.0 AWD. 35mpg, Android Auto / Apple Car Play, adaptive cruise, blind spot, cross traffic alert , collision avoidance, lane keep assist, auto wipers, auto high beams, parallel park assist all for 25 grand or less.

mazda is adding awd to more of their cars.
some of the upper trims would be near 30k.
they dont use CVTs, can get a non turbo as well. Simpiler less things to break. still uses direct injection. Toyota i believe has moved to dual port and direct injection which keeps the valves cleaner
