Even in 2nd and 3rd world countries, where people make $200 to $500 a month, I'm always shocked that just having an appetizer + entree + drink can still set me back $15. And I'm nowhere near a touristy street or tourist trap area.
Honestly I'm just shifting more and more to cooking everything at home. The pandemic kinda forced / encouraged this in me.

What makes you think people don't notice? There was a frozen breakfast meal i always bought because it was low cal, high protein, and didn't taste bad for a microwavable. I noticed they reduced the portion size and increased price, but majority of the other brands did the same so out of the options it was still the one worth buying.
Ha, in US appetizer, entrée, and drink is like $25 minimum now. $6-$8 apps, $12-15 entree, and $2.50-$3.90 for a drink. Then tax....GGLast edited by Contribution05; 03-03-2021 at 07:34 PM.

Likewise I think mots of these companies, especially in the beginning, lure you in with cheap prices or big quantity (with some quality) then once they have enough cult fans then they really claw back.
None of us will be able to eat the original McDonalds burger for example. Pretty sure it had to mog the bullchit they put out now.

Jesus, Five guys is one of the only places I would get a burger at let alone spend the money to eat at seems like I was paying around 10$ or so for burgers and fries maybe 15$ but faurk not even worth it I make fries at home from scratch 10lb bag for like 2$ at local grocery store and hamburgers obviously one of the easiest things to make.

Yeah, same. The first time I ever had Five Guys was like 2008 and thought pricing was ridiculous. I think I paid like $18 for a double bacon with fries and a drink and was so turned off that I didn't eat it again for like 5 years. However, I just ate it near my house a month ago and expecting it to be higher. Still not on the regular rotation of food though.
