I only have 1 CC and its a discover (lols). Score is 670+. I do a lot of purchases on that discover last month, i maxed it out and paid it in full but then my credit score dropped 35 points lol so i probably need another one so i can keep the revolving utilization low.
whats a great one?

This and the Costco visa, because they only take Visa and ^^^ is Mastercard and I spend a lot at costco. The benefits are paid in a costco rebate so useless unless you shop there, but as good as cash if you do. 4% back on gas, 3% back on dining and travel, 2% back at costco, 1% anywhere else (use the CITI double cash instead)
I'm just a white guy from the future, I'm completely out of touch

Banker checking in.
Get yourself a Citi double cash for everyday spending
Get yourself the Amazon 5% back if you pay for prime and can shop amazon often
Get a Walmart credit card if you shop there often. 5% back for in-store purchases
Get a Costco card if you have one near you. This is your gas card and grocery card now, they give you 5% on their gas.
I never really cared about credit. Got paper checks will I was 26-27 (even while working at the bank lol)
Checked my credit score and it was 528. I built it to 730 and bought a house in about 11 months. If I could go back to before I ever got a credit card, I’d do the setup I posted above. But due to ****ty credit I had to start with a couple Secured credit cards.
Btw, never close a credit product. Even if you don’t use it for years.
Repped OP for researching his decisions first
I had this mentality until my late 20’s. I still have it tbh, but once I started wanting to buy a house I realized that I had to start playing the game at some point unless I wanted to wear a hard hat my whole life.🦜 Parrot crew 🦜 125 gallon planted freshwater crew 🦜 60 gallon reef tank crew 🦜 Flip phone crew 🦜 No ******** crew 🦜 2 books per month crew

Depends entirely on your spending habits.
Most CCs suck now bc they cucked most, if not all the benefits from them....pissening!
So now its basically dependent on the cash back %/points.
Double cash is 2% nd good for general use, if you travel a lot or dine out, or use amazon a lot there are various cards that may work better.
I use Costco Visa mainly bc of the extended warranty, I would probably be better off adding citi double card to use with certain purchasesn4l

Brb, $4 is still $4...multiply those %s to ALL your purchases throughout the year.
Now, add in an extra 2 yr warranty that the costco visa provides, along with all the other benefits a card can provide (car rental insurance).
Now factor in the security benefits of being able to dispute charges, etc.
That being said, while you do get nice benefits with a CC, i can guarantee you, you will spend more $ than if you just dealt with cash.n4l
