I mean, he's not wrong. It goes both ways. Either parnter letting themselves go to chit when a relationship gets comfortable is a recipe for issues. Those issues become especially pronounced when one of them lets themselves go significantly more so than the other. The true red pill is that these days, men letting themselves go in a relationship is far more problematic for themselves than it is for women when they do it.

For example, let's say you start off with a Chaelite man who is in great physical shape, goes to the gym regularly, watches his intake of garbage foods, etc. Then you have an average looking woman who is maybe 20lb overweight, doesn't put much efforf into herself. They get serious, possibly get married. Over the course of 5-10 years, the dude puts on maybe 20-30lb, though a good portion of it being lean mass, he's no longer rocking a six pack, but does go hard in the gym and in prertty good shape regardless. The woman barely works out at all, starts putting even less effort into her overall appearance, and balloons up to being more like 50lb+ overweight off ice cream/sodas/fast food/etc.

When that couple breaks up, the female will still have plenty of thirst white knight orbiters just waiting to pounce for some chsnce at some tail. Her options may not be quite what they were when she was in better shape, but she'll still have no shortage of attention if she wants it. The guy however, is going to notice he gets significanfly less easy attention from younger hotter women than had he stayed in peak physical condition, even though he didn't let himself go nearly as badly as his ex gf/wife did in the example. If he wants anywhere near the amount of attention his bloatlord ex will receive simply because vagina, he's gonna need to put a hell of a lot more effort into improving himself again than she would ever have to.
