And, yes, I've supported mask wearing when inside buildings with strangers and to respect other peoples' boundaries. Haven't once worn a mask to walk around outside or driving in my car.

AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas is lifting its mask mandate, Gov. Greg Abbott said Tuesday, making it the largest state to end an order intended to prevent the spread of the coronavirus that has killed more than 42,000 Texans.

The Republican governor has faced sharp criticism from his party over the mandate, which was imposed eight months ago, and other COVID-19 restrictions. It was only ever lightly enforced, even during the worst outbreaks of the pandemic.

Texas will also do away with limits on the number of diners that businesses can serve indoors, said Abbott, who made the announcement at a restaurant in Lubbock. He said the new rules would take effect March 10.

“Removing statewide mandates does not end personal responsibility,” said Abbott, speaking from a crowded dining room where many of those surrounding him were not wearing masks.

If a person wants to continue wearing a mask and physically distancing then they choose to just like it's another person's choice to not wear a mask and start living normally again. Same with businesses, if a business wants to still keep the mask policy for people to enter the stores then they can just like it's a choice for a store to not have that policy or for a person to choose not to go into either store.

I've been attending conventions in southern missouri for the past year. Masks have never been required. Anywhere. Go to STL and people freak out. Go 2 hours south of STL and the world looks normal. Even corporate places. Stayed at a hampton inn a month ago and people were hanging out in the lobby like the world was normal. Went to the convention center and only people that had masks on were old people. Makes sense though because old people only watch the news and read the paper and don't internet so what the media tells them is how they live.
