Want to add.
When you adopt a cat they will be so scared, since they hate the shelter. They will constantly meow out of fear that you are going to kill them or something when you transport them home.
When you bring them home, they will be so confused since you just gave them a better life.
Once they get used to it, they will meow at you in the morning to greet you.
To prevent hairballs, you have to give them this:

Also don't feed them catgrass if they are an inside cat, otherwise they will throw up. Since that's what catgrass is supposed to do. It's to get rid of bones or stuff that could hurt their intestines.

Would love to add a note that black cats are the least likely to get adopted because they are “boring looking” and some people are still superstitious.
If you can spare a little room in your home and in your heart, please consider one of the many black cats who are sitting and waiting (and likely will carrying on waiting a much longer time than others) in a pen in a local shelter. <3Gender Identity: Miscer pronouns: ****/****got

Cats are poor pets. The fact that we even managed to domesticate them is a miracle.
If you want company rather get a dog, even a small one is still more masculine than a cat and will make for better company and ability to meet women.Athletics > Aesthetics

You are allowed what you want, if a kitten is in fact what you're looking for. It'll be hard to find one in a shelter because not many people will dump them off there, usually kittens are given away to friends and families.
Shelter cats are all spayed and neutered around here, all up to date with shots, and have had recent vet checks so for the most part you know what you're getting into, whereas a kitten is going to be a little ball of hell.
My current cat is from the shelter and she's the sweetest cat I've ever owned in my life, and I've had friends kittens and kept feral cats before** KNEE DRAGGERS UNITE **
