    What kind of hamburger mix do you eat?

    By mix I mean the ratio of lean to fat on the label. Most stuff in the grocery stores is 80/20, but I see a ton of fat that comes of when it's cooked. I save the run off fat and soak bed crumbs in it, then feed it to birds in the snow. I shoot the starlings with a .22 so the cardinals can get some. I leave the starlings so that other critters can have something to eat. I buy 93/7, but that is always kind of dry. I see 85/15 from time to time. 90/10 is a pretty decent. There is no fat run off and it tastes pretty good.

    So what ratio of hamburger meat do you eat?

    I get the Trader Joes organic 85/15 when fresh. Otherwise I get the Costco ground sirloin frozen burgers. Also 85/15 and Awefully tasty for frozen and super convenient.

    I live out in the sticks, and most people around here are farmers or cattle ranchers. The Beyond Meat distributors don't bother trying to market their product in this market. They probably do well in larger cities along the coasts.

    I haven't tried Beyond but the Impossible stuff is pretty decent.

    It's interesting how chicken, fish, etc is actually quite easy to replicate with non-animal ingredients, but the taste of red meat is tougher.

    Yeah they both taste good, but I don't get Impossible because it comes in a big square instead of separate patties (at least where I see them). The only diff I notice from regular burgers is that you don't get that "greasy I can still taste it" feeling for hours after, which can be good or bad depending on what you're going for that meal.
