Well I bought one last year for 9k and now I could probably get 11k for it, so, I'd say a decent investment. Not that that is what it was to begin with.

Seikos are the best man
Completely agree about the hate being relegated to the internet. The casual person is gonna think the two tone mogs a regular stainless steel most likely. haha I'm still in the honeymoon phase with my seadweller though so it hasn't left my wrist recently.
The explorer II polar is a great watch. Would love to have one.

"Investment" Does it make money...?! Does it appreciate in value..?! Common son, There is like a zero percent chance you would make money off of watches unless you buy one off of drug addict feinding for cash and you could turn around and sell it for fair market value the people that make money off watches are sales people and the watch makers not plebs who buy watches.

I’ve made money on my seikos just the same as some higher end Swiss pieces. Bought a seiko 5, wore it for a couple years and turned around and sold it for a little more than I bought it for.
Even some random seiko quartz watches I’ve either been gifted or found I was able to get like 50 bucks a piece for.
I recently bought the watch that seiko was an homage to

If you Rolexmaxxed back in 2017 you’ve basically doubled your investment (for men’s sport models primarily) thanks to the huge rise in demand from China and Rolex keeping production low purposely.
You can see the change in design from smaller and more subtle bezels and watch heads to more noticeable pieces, same goes for luxury cars like BMW’s grilles and Mercedes’ giant grille stars. Chinese love brandmaxxing and want to flaunt it, that’s where a lot of the Rolex price inflation came from recentlyCoincel

That's why you don't make money they're artificially scarce they truly make tons of them and they're in the business of selling watches and I see people all the time walking in and buying hulks and all types of stuff I think you just need to be in an area with a lot of watch connoisseurs since that is an area where they're gonna make more money then having a bunch of watches sit in some bum fook fly over state that isn't getting sold because zero demand in that area not disputing they hold value but certainly in my opinion not something you can make money on most people see the price of used rolex basically the same as new so zero incentive to buy used unless you live in some bum fook fly over state and your AD has zero inventory so how do you make money on a watch most people can walk in and buy one and if used prices are virtually the same I just can't fathom how any of these watches go up in value maybe if you have a 1/1 richard millie or a super rare patek but when you're talking 50-100k watches I think you are sort of getting into a different market love rolex and would enjoy a jubilee date just but would never buy it to make money let alone thinking a watch most AD have 5 of in stock and everybody and their brother has 5 of them is going to make any money.

Seiko makes some fantastic stuff that rivals the top mass production Swiss watches. Their spring drive pieces are incredible engineering. I had the SBDX001 (MM300) and still regret trading it.
However, the average consumer needs to realize nothing you can buy in the US domestic market is equal to the Prospex or Spring Drive or Grand Seiko lines.480s / 370b / 495d / 235 x 2 SOHP

My dad recently gave me his 89 President. I like to take it out to look at, but i don't really wear it. i wouldn't consider them investments as much as i would consider them value holders. Kinda the same way i consider gold and silver coins.

I'm in a ******** group and I see people posting them all the time and most of them comment that they're just walking in like I said maybe if you're in some bum fook fly over state yeah no duh they aren't gonna have any stock because it wouldn't sell and would sit there forever so they put the watch in a different store were there is more demand because they know it'll sell faster it's a fooking business mate nobody makes money by purposely refusing to sell you a watch I've probably seen 5 people in the group this week alone post hulks they picked up pepsi and the brown black submariner dial all types of stuff people drool over honestly I think the whole can't get it without being on the list is either people who aren't serious buyers or something along those lines. If you go in a tell them you specifically want a certain watch or buy something from them to build a relationship I think you'd be surprised. As I said I love rolex but I feel like 80% of the people talking about how rare they are either don't own any or haven't seriously tried to build a relationship with an AD or they live in some fly over state.

If you live in L.A and can't find a hulk there is a 100% chance you aren't leaving your housing going to the AD with cash in hand as a serious buyer, I would be willing to understand if you live in Louisiana or something but common mate. You know there are 600 used dealers and AD with every rolex you could imagine within a 30 mile radius of yourself.

Brah, Just cause it's discontinued doesn't mean they're completely sold out they probably made tons of them before discontinuing and they're floating around or slowly being dripped out until they're truly a bit more rare plus if they made 300,000 of them how is that rare exactly thats like buying a 2019 honda and saying well you know they don't make the 2019 any more so its super duper rare hur dur when they still got plenty on the lot. Good for you...?! I don't really care much about watches I would like one at some point but I am trying to get on that 10k/day ceo time first instead of deluding myself into believing I made it because I can finance / drop 10k on a watch which every pleb and their mother can do.

All 4 of those watches are worth more than I paid for them.
The hulk and batgirl are worth significantly more. Bought the hulk a year and a half ago for $9k, its worth $15-20k now. The batgirl I paid around 9k or so as well and its worth $15-17k now. Bought that a year ago around christmas.
You're an idiot.
