AFAIK, the only requirement for private gun sales in AZ is the purchaser must be 18yo for long guns and 21 for handguns. No background checks or anything required

If he legally sold firearms to someone and the purchaser smuggled them to Mexico how is it the seller's at fault?

Unless they can prove he knew the purchaser was part of the cartel what crime did he commit?

That's why you don't fight cartels with locals. They are connected by family, friends, or can just buy off people. They need to bring in a third party like some foreign legion with enough fire-power and wipe them off. They can't blackmail anyone's family, can't try to buy them off or anything. To the DEA agent he's just making a private sale. It sounds like it's illegal for him to hold an FFL license ... Which is funny because if he had an FFL he would be required to do a background check and likely would have realized that the buyers were cartel members
