Strange situation. If you get disqualified in a lot of sports, the guy who was second will be the winner. Olympics for example, if you step out of the shot put circle after the throw, it doesn't count. Doesn't matter if you're throwing much further than someone else, your gold medal will be the guy's, worth silver, if you don't follow the rules.
BJJ - You slam the opponent or tell the ref he sucks you're out
Boxing - Same as with UFC
We can all agree that Yan was dominating but none of these decisions should even be considered the fighters'. The refs, doctors & official rulebook needs to determine the outcome, whether it's the belt and the $$$ going to the obvious loser after a fault like that.

I’d be toasting too
Yan deserves the belt to be gone, he should comfortably win the rematch but my god I still cannot comprehend how much of a potato he is, the finish was coming very soon if not, next round, Aljo was moving like one of those inflatables you American brahs have at your car dealerships

Sterling is a Grade A phaggot. First embarrassed himself with his overly fake crybaby Oscar theatrics, then threw the belt on the ground to look cool only to pick it up 5 minutes later and pose for a smiling party photos with his buddies. That's what he'll go down in history as - an obnoxious twat, nobody is going to support that kind of a fake champ. Can't wait for "No Mercy" Petr to destroy this asswipe in a rematch and end his pathetic career.

Damn, not looking good. Should've kept quiet and maybe saved some face.
I mean we have seen crazier comebacks so we can't say Yan would have 100% won this even though he was winning 95%.

First: I was wrong about Jan/Izzy. Honestly expected Izzy to win by decision and use accurate striking throughout the fight. Keep distance and get the win. Kudos to Jan.
As for Sterling... Seems to me like the solution is simple. The rules should just be that in the event of a disqualification worthy instance, the fight is stopped and it goes to judges scorecards. If the fighter who is disqualified wins via the judges, it's ruled a no contest. If the DQ'd fighter was losing on the judges card, they lose the fight. In this case, fight would be ruled a no contest and you wouldn't have a champion who was clearly on the road to losing the fight before he was gifted a win (albeit a rough acceptance of the gift). This rule would also make Jon Jones record look more accurate too.Everything depends upon execution; having just a vision is no solution.
Performance and performance alone dictates the predator in any food chain.

That aspect didn't surprise me since he's fought taller guys in his kickboxing career, just his durability in general vs a guy that big
He's fo sure gonna rule that division. The guy's hard enough to catch as it is but he's also got the toughness as shown in that fight + the power as Jan said. Crazy combination for middleweight
Jan also surprised me with how technical he was. I knew he could knock him out or wrestle him but didn't expect him to do that well on the feet
