Really digging divinity 2!

Started the game like a year ago and quit after couple hours just seemed too complex weird combat etc...

40 hours in now really like the combat it reminds me of a rts game height advantage environment so Makhachkala different builds weapons. Story isn’t amazing so far but I just left fort joy. I can see why this game is hyped as one of the greatest rpgs.

I've modded the Bejeesus out of mine in recent playthroughs. It's fun chit.


Nothing is more powerful than Lone Wolfing it as a Skeleton with Fane as my partner, full caster builds designed to set each other up on our next turn, but also blasting Geo poison AE's as all poison heals both characters. It sick, it piss.

Just remember the 4th act was all buggy when it first came out and I never finished it. Recently started up a new game as Fane. Got to the graveyard area and stopped playing. Need to pick it back up again.

It was hard for me to get into at first because of all the reading (man has my attention span went away) but after I adjusted to it then it was great. Enjoyed it until the very end. Battles turning into an entire field of holy fire just got very old. I realize I didn't spec my team out like I should have and if I played it again I would take the insane amount of holy fire into account but the first time through burned me out.

but I did it with this game

first time I played on the 2nd highest difficulty wit Ifan, Lizard and Lohse

second time played on highest with Fane, Dwarf and Sebille. Second time around despite a higher difficulty I found it easier since I knew what I was doing

First time playing one of my buds was incredibly slow during his turn and he played a summoner. fml.

Ended up hating it for a few months and played duo with a faster player. Great game.

Awesome game. Tho i missed being able to grind enemies to reach higher levels, was not possible in this game. At one point your just did in all the enemies and you had to go to the next area. Bit of scripted feeling there.

Its a fun game, especially running through a first time with a friend though it was extremely buggy/unfinished when it first came out, the final two areas feeling super rushed.

Still it was a blast, even though the magic/phys armor system felt like a step back.

50 hours in only second act thought about turning difficulty down from classic getting rekt by guys one level above me and don’t know where to get exp I’m at the oil pits or something

there's some build guides and some good spells to use at the beginning of the game

- crowd control/knockdowns are probably your best friend

- steal from every NPC that sells spellbooks and gear

- adrenaline is an OP skill, allows you to dispatch single targets very quickly so it isn't an uphill battle

- certain other skills are really strong in the beginning

personally I played one of my characters as a necromancer/physical bruiser type. he could take a beating, heal, CC and deal alot of dmg. Geomancy isn't bad against melee either as you have multiple spells that can cripple, slow. A summoner who can summon pets/totems and use dominate mind can be useful

I played a lot of D1 but never got around to finishing it but haven't bought 2 yet. What mods do you recommend without straying too far from the original vision of the game? I know a lot of mods for these games can make huge change and I'd prefer to roll through it without any of that stuff.
