The difficulty probably depends on how much experience you have with the genre. It was my first (aside from Fire Emblem, which is probably the closest to the genre). Of course you can artificially increase the difficulty by not buying the latest weapons and such.

I definitely had a bit of trouble with some levels/bosses. I certainly didn't think it was a breeze. Also has a beautiful soundtrack from Grant Kirkhope (banjo kazooie, dk64, perfect dark).

I love the game. Such a pleasant surprise to me.

I'm really hoping for a sequel. I also got the Donkey Kong dlc and have enjoyed it a lot. Just a game that made me happy. My team mostly consisted of Mario (mandatory team member), Luigi (GOAT sniper), and rabbid luigi (his "vampire" skills are pretty darn OP eventually). You can probably also increase difficulty depending on what team members you choose.

I haven’t played RE6 or 7 yet but I have them both. Though, I wasn’t a huge fan with the style it’s taken starting with RE4. It’s no longer a survival horror and it’s more action in these later games. Sad they ruined it. RE4 still cracks my top 10 simply for Leon Kennedy, but RE5 was a sh*t show.

Cool, appreciate the input. Will definitely give it a shot now. I was a big fan of XCOM 2 and the gameplay looks similar, but I think the theming just made me assume it was geared towards kids and would be too easy as a result. Sounds like that's not necessarily the case though, which is good.

Totally get the "Just a game that made me happy" thing as well. Yoku's Island Express is a game that provided that for me recently.

Half Life is one of my favorite just for the world and story. I start the game a few times a year just to go on the beginning train ride. And whenever I play the whole game I turn on cheats so I can just make my way through the game without stressing about dying so much. It's a work of art. Same with Portal and Portal 2 (except I love the gameplay there and don't turn on cheats).
