I worked at a fast food place during high school and we would use a metal bucket to trigger the sensor under the cement in the drive-through to make it look like a car drove through and it would record it as a 3-5 second time. Do this enough times and it will make your times look great....

Yes. When I worked at a fast food place, our district manager would randomly pull into the drive thru without any notice. He would time it to see how long it took to get through the line from start to finish.
The workers appreciate you being civil about it. The job is bad enough as it is without annoying customers.

As a customer, I generally don't go through drive thrus. Rather order on the app and walk inside to pick it up.
