I was planning to get a 3070 but prices suddenly spiked and it added $200 more from the price a few weeks ago which was around $620
Meanwhile the 2070 super is available and it's price got dramatically reduced to only $400 now.
Would I be better off waiting and hoping for the the prices of 3070 to go back to it's price a few weeks ago? I have a feeling it'll take more time.
Or is it better to just buy the 2070 super now?

I don't get why you guys are buying $800 graphic cards.
For $1000, I can get an xbox and ps5 and get access to all of the exclusive games that are on par in terms of graphical computing.

Enjoy your 30frames bro lol these cards are capable of running 144+ at 8k resolution so your "tech proof" for at least 8-10 years with these.
You will have to buy 3 console gens at a minimum to keep up with what this one card can do on top of the other functionality that comes with a PC.Last edited by GainzMcgee; 02-25-2021 at 07:19 AM.

Supply and demand brah.
And I don't feel it's right to buy it for $800 when it was just $600 a few days ago. And as the reply above said, if it does come back to around $600, it'll be around June or July, that was actually my estimate too, I was just hoping someone with more knowledge or experience bout this would say the prices will drop soon, but that seems to be just wishful thinking.
But does xbox or PS5 have beautiful lgbt representation like this?
jk, I need a fast pc for work too.Last edited by M0nsterB0y; 02-25-2021 at 07:34 AM.

PC games are often optimized like chit, an upscaled 1800p console game will look better than “80%” of 4k on PC
A 2070 or even 3070 won’t keep stable frame rates at 4k60fps. The days of 30 fos are long gone. Nvidia ****ed up on this one when their 8k card can’t even keep a stable 4k60.
Wait for the 4000 cards-Some people say good things come to those who wait, truth is, good things come to those who work..... who work later.....who work harder...... who are willing to go further than anyone else to get them. If you're waiting for good things to come to you, you'll be waiting for a pretty long time.

I have a 2060 super now and honestly it still runs great and I'm sure it can hold its own until next year, so a 2070s can more than holds it own for the next year or so. If budget isnt an issue and you can kinda throw your money around .... I personally would buy a 2070 as a small stop gap until I can get my hands on a newer card whenever that is..... But that brings me to the question ... What exactly are you upgrading from?
If you're of course more mindful with your money, then I'd say stick with whatever you have and just upgrade to the 3070 or whatever when they become available, which hopefully by the years end this whole stupid shortage should be a lot better.Sig line can't be a novel

Also when you play on console, everyone is playing on an even playing field.
With PCs, the variations in performance is so wide that it makes the gaming experience inconsistent, especially with multiplayer.
A dev may make a game with this feature but then takes it out on console and leaves it in on PC. Again, inconsistency.
Either make a game for PC or console. Cannot do both, bb.
Master console race outnumber the PC race 20:1, and you wanna know how I know console will take over(it already has)? $800 GPUs.Last edited by tunafishha; 02-25-2021 at 10:08 AM.

nah the best players i've ever played with use really old hardware. just cause you got 200fps doesn't mean you are out there murdering people. when we want 144+ fps its about the experience playing with those smooth rates. Its one of those things where once you experience it you can't go back to poverty. If you've always console gamed then console gaming is perfectly fine for you.

I'm looking at benchmark comparisons between 2070 super and 3070 and seems like the 3070 has around 25-30% performance over 2070 super. If only the price remained at the $600 range, it definitely would have been worth it, but now at $820 vs 2070 super's $400, I definitely don't think 30% boost in performance is worth another $400 lol.
I'm upgrading from a gtx 1060 gaming x and I'm itching to upgrade. I don't think I can wait until July, much more until year's end lol and with the pandemic making more people buy a **** ton of hardware and there's crypto miners, I have a feeling this shortage will last longer
My country is near Taiwan which I hear manufactures gpu parts, do you guys think that'll make a difference?

I understand the smooth game rate argument but 60fps will give you the best playing experience, with consideration to playability, cost, player count, games, and consistency.
If you are playing on PC and want to push it to the limit with 100fps+, that's fine but you'll be playing with a small niche group of people.
My point was, why would you want to be in this niche group? People in this group are dumb - that was my main point.

yep looks like its 2070s for me then just make sure to get the 40 series cards as soon as they come out before prices go crazy again
can confirm, my kd in Siege didn't really improve much when I got a 240hz monitor. The #frameswingames by Nvidia was a marketing sham lmao, but it do look really good and smooth in the eyes.
I get around 150+ fps in Siege and sometimes when I render while playing it drops down to below 100 and I can feel the roughness. There's just no going back specially when it comes to competitive fps games. I can stand 40-60fps in single player games like RDR2 and CP2077 though.Last edited by M0nsterB0y; 02-25-2021 at 10:54 AM.
