Ok but if me collapsing is the case, I'd want you to add more weight to my barbell then call 911.

This was 135 for 4 today. Really felt my spine compressing on the 5th so I said screw it. https://streamable.com/cxg8h4

Well the goal doesn’t have to be true RPE 10 across the board, every exercise, every set, every workout. :P

But hey, if you enjoy it and feel it’s working for you - keep doing it until it doesn’t.

Odd for this to be the limiting factor. Surely you squat and deadlift beyond 135 for more than 5 reps.

I do, it was just the compression from starting to turn the overhead press into an incline due due shoulders and triceps giving out.

Fair enough. Doing that actually takes some of the compressive load off the spine and turns it into more shear in a hyperextended position, which is what you were probably feeling. Was trying to visualize what a compressed spine felt like mid-set lol.

It felt like I was about to do a back handspring with a disk flying out of my spine across the gym and hitting someone in the face behind me so I didn't force it.

I don’t know if it’s the pants being baggy but as you press up your entire lower body looks loose.

Even core looks a little soft.

I’d want to see you actively squeezing your glutes in the press up and really bracing your core to create more explosion on the rep.

It would limit that backward lean.
