It's like all the biggies. Microsoft, Aliexpress, Uber, Amazon (at first) etc. etc. they just buybuybuy everyone out. Make HUGE losses over the years but meanwhile the influx of money is infinite which means whale investors who know that the moment all competition is out of the way, the prices go up (or scammy **** like lootboxes) the big bucks come flying in. Yeah this sucks but honestly Codemasters was on the decline and becoming ever-more EA-esque with every new game they released last gen. Like look at the Dirt series, the original was amazing, and it peaked with the second game, then the series continued to decline. Dirt Rally started out well but then Dirt Rally 2.0 became a total "live services" game where you gotta be connected all the time and online issues can ruin the single player experience. Heck even F1 2020 introduced a COD-esque online season pass deal where you level up and unlock stupid little bonuses. At this point I doubt we will notice a difference.
