    Low bar squat less respectable?

Been reading and asking around and it seems the general consensus is that low bar squatting is easier for most people, and enables greater poundage due to more muscle recruitment. That said, while some experienced lifters have a natural advantage with high bar, for many taller people with long femurs or torsos, squatting low bar seems to be the only way to have normal leverages at respectable weight.

For me, squatting low bar feels far more natural, but I don't know if that has more to do with a good amount of deadlifting under my belt and comparatively little squatting (i.e. weak quads and power at the knee), or my natural frame (6'2" and fairly long legs). I'm still in the novice level with this lift and want to train it the way that will yield the best results. Outside of competitive powerlifting levels of weight, would those of you with intermediate/advanced squats consider it a "training wheels"
sort of approach, or fully respectable if it is indeed the best way to go about it for one's frame?

Depends on your definition of "best results" - if your goal is quad recruitment for hypertrophy, you are probably better served high bar squatting. If your goal is a big number squat, you can definitely stick with low bar.

I don't think there's anything "less respectable" about low bar, it just tends to be for people with different goals. Like, you'll rarely see Oly lifters squatting low bar just cause there's no real reason for them to. On the flipside, most powerlifters do very little high bar.

2" difference on your upper can't in any way be less respectable.

Depth is depth. Rom is rom.

Just put the bar where it slots in tightest. Mine is kinda midbar.

It doesn't matter man. Whatever fits your frame best. Dedication is more respectable than squat style.

I never thought about HB/LB until maybe 2 years lifting. First day I just set the bar on my back where it wouldn't fall off and squatted it. First time I said I squat HB was when someone asked in my form check vid.

Just put the bar where it's most stable and try. You can easily change squat styles later.

I'm REALLY tempted by the Transformer. It's at an awkward price where I could afford it, but I'd have to put some other plans on hold. Right now, I think top priorities are some decent plates and assorted small pieces sadly. One day, Kabuki. One day.
