No, she has about the same depth of understanding of complex issues as Trump does and therefore comes up with simpleton solutions that are lapped up by simpleton sycophants. It's scary how similar they and their simpleton followings are.
Complex Issue: Illegal immigration / border security
Simpleton answer: build a wall to keep people out
In-depth understanding: A wall is a waste of money that won't keep people out anyway, is environmentally impractical, requires eminent domain property seizures that violate people's property rights, and violates international treaties.
Trump cult: "build that wall, build that wall, build that wall"
Complex Issue: People working full time below the poverty line
Simpleton answer: $15 minimum wage so everyone with a job isn't poor
In-depth understanding: Raising the minimum wage causes companies to reduce employment, especially young people, and sometimes permanently through automation, wages are geographically related to COL so that $15/hr in Manhattan, NY is still dirt poor but $15/hr in Manhattan, KS for Walmart and McDonalds is well above market.
AOC Cult: "$15 minimum wage now"
There are lots of issues like this in both cults where their simpleton leaders come up with simpleton solutions that are actually counterproductive but the simpleton cultists incapable of and inhospitable to actual understanding of issues lap up the simpleton solutions. Because the respective leaders are cults of personality it doesn't matter to their simpleton followings that they are also simpletons not qualified to be leaders who will make things worse. She will be President. Book it.

Oh don't get me started on min wage. I agree that is an area that makes zero sense to me to set at one level federally. I'd like to see a minimum wage set by estimates of the local cost of living and inflation adjusted annually.
But I'll just say there is a difference. I'm not religiously dedicated to AOC. I can laugh at a good Occasional Cortex meme. These guys zealously defend Trump like he's their father...or as they might lovingly call him, their fuhrer. They are fuking nuts. At least AOC seems to like science and listen to scientists on key issues.
I will say I like AOC in that she has a good heart and seems to mean well. She seems to care and that matters a lot. An economist could sit down with her and probably explain to her why 15 across the board might not be ok for some of the more impoverished parts of the US. There was never any hope of anyone explaining climate change or covid to Trump.

Honestly at this point it won’t matter. The media won’t be able to run interference for Beijing Biden for 4 years. Look at the monumental mistakes he has been making on a daily basis. You can only spin them for so long. I’m not saying the media won’t try, and they are already beyond parody, but it won’t be effective.
